Im a XP user for several years now and i believe its the best operating system out there.. i have tested some the new operating system now like windows vista and windows 7. in win 7 i have seen many bugs like when i install some of my softwares like alcohol etc.. it restarts automatically and when i installed vista its so slow.. thats why i switch back to xp.. although they say that win 7 is much more improve than XP i believe that it is not correct XP is still the best.. i want to test the mac, ubunto.. because i've already tested centos 5 long ago. and i like the speed but i cannot play games =( haha what is your os now and why are you using it until now..?

Well, i also do like XP because of its reliability. Especial, the older versions. But Xp has become so boring. Well, when i bought my laptop it was pre-installed with Vista. And mind you, vista sucks. With just a couple of months after i bought my laptop the OS now begins to corrupt. Well, as we all know Vista is the unfinished version of windows 7. So right now i installed windows 7 ultimate to my laptop and it works great! It's not giving me any more headache.

I am also a proud user of windows xp! i have tried vista and i really can't stand that os, i also tried win 7 and even if it is better than vista, the only improvements it has form xp is the boot time, the rest is just cosmetical in my opinion.
I also use ubuntu and i really like that os as well, the only problem is that i have to use many applications that don't work on a linux platform so i am forced to have both xp and ubunti in dual boot. And since i often have to use those softwares i use xp most of the times.

Being a computer PC/Network tech going close to 14 years I currently use Microsoft Windows Vista x64 Ultimate and Windows 7 x64 on one machine as a dual boot. I don't have any lag time, it does not slow down and it runs perfectly well. I'm not going to name all the specs of my system, but having an AMD 64 X2 +5800 is very convenient for my daily use.
Now in your case if you're saying Vista is slow of course it runs slow if you're using older systems that use PC-133 or the older DDR RAM off an older Pentium 4 or AMD Anthlon machine. Much better when you're using DDR2 or DDR3.
For users that are using low budget simple computers that just use internet, pay games online or use facebook/myspace then yes Windows XP is a good choice to use.
I'd only recommend Windows Vista or 7 to those who want to go all out buying higher upgrade parts or PC's to get your money's worth for a 64 bit system.

I have been using Windows Vista for 3 years now. So far it's been doing good with me, but of course there are some bugs once in a while. I would still like to use XP, but so far no budget for now. I couldn't say about Windows 7 because I haven't tried it yet, but as far as I heard it's better than Vista. Happy mylotting!

currently i use Snow Leopard because i switched to mac, but before that i was a certified PC user. i too love XP and for the longest time that was what i used. then windows 7 came and all the hype and reviews got me excited. i got a laptop for my husband and installed windows 7 home premium and i think it's really nice too. similar to XP in ways but more updated and more "fancy" or "cooler" if i may say so.
i'm happy though with snow leopard and mac, and it's not really true that one will have a hard time adjusting to it. i was able to use mac with ease without any trainings, so i guess windows 7 format prepared me for my "transition." for office tools though i still use MS office hehehe but i have iworks installed as well. i havent explored much about the mac's office programs.

I like to think of my operating systems like different people in my life. XP has always been like a very reliable, if distant roommate. Vista, which I never personally had, was like a murderer on a Top 10 most wanted list that i hoped to never meet, and windows 7 is like an overprotective, loving parent. I currently have windows 7, and i am satisfied with it, and it almost seems to anticipate what i want before i put the command into the computer...

I just got Windows 7 yesterday and it's absolutely amazing! I love it. Before that I had Windows Vista which I thought was really good but it wasn't great since it wasn't really much of an upgrade from XP.
It just really depends on what type of computer you've got because of course if you have quite an old computer with Windows 7, you'll have a lot of trouble because your computer won't be able to cope with it.
I have a Dell XPS which is a very powerful laptop and it's made for gaming so that's why it works perfectly with Windows 7 and doesn't get slowed down at all.

I am using xp right now. I am also having difficulty migrating to vista or windows 7 cause most of the softwares I use won't run on vista or windows 7. I also tried ubuntu and encountered the same problems. I guess I'll just wait for the update versions of the softwares that I use before I could migrate to vista or windows 7.

My current PC OS is Windows 7, but I've had Vista and XP. My old Dell Inspirion 1501 was powered by Vista. I took it last week to a computer doctor because it had been running so slow, about like a snail pace. And that guy told me that they, the computer companies, found out with something like Vista that you need more RAM. And they didn't put enough RAM into those computer to help the OS. I have a desktop that is ran on XP. And it was an o.k operating system. So, far I like Windows 7, it seems like a much better improvement compared to that Vista.

I'm now a windows 7 user. Even though its new I'm not encountering any issues. The interface is good. Games are now compatible with it. I have no problems with my programming tools. No problem in watching videos. Windows 7 has higher requirements than XP. 1 Gigahertz processor, at least 1 gig RAM and DirectX 9 graphics device. If you meet all of those requirements then switch to 7 :D

well i was a XP user but now i switched to windows 7,because it was the latest but still i really love xp too but i find greater style in windows 7 than xp and also the security options and if something goes wrong then it will diagnose and show us what was the problem and the problem could be fixed by and if it was a small problem then it will automatically resolves the problem this is the one of the great qualities that i find in windows 7 than windows xp.

I have two operating systems because I have two computers. I just got a new laptop and it came with Windows 7 installed already and I'm not really finding anything different with it except for the task bar and how the opened windows are stored on it.
On my desktop I have Windows Vista and I don't mind that either.
To me a browser is a browser as long as the internet works I'm good!
Have a nice day

Many say that vista has many bugs etc, but I think it is user friendly. The operating system has perks for easy usage when compared to xp. I realize this very much because in the office, some computer are on vista, some are on xp, the vistas are much easier to use. It is very easy to find stuff.
