considering the recent rumors that the PCOS machine to be used for the coming May 10 election are not functioning as they are expected to function, do you think there's a need to postpone the election? some machines are found to only read the results for the national elections but will not yield any results for the municipal level..

yes, I think there is need to postpone the elections. its not time for us to cram, because this is not just like the exam in school, but what the result be in this election will affect our future, whether in a good way or bad way. We really need to have a true election without error. I hope the COMELEC will decide to postpone the elections. In this way, I could also vote.lol.

when they decided to use the PCOS machine, they supposed to try the accuracy of the machine a long time ago and not just for few days before election to make sure it works or not. whether they postpone the election or not, its still the same so i guess they will continue it and if theres problem occurs during that day of counting then they must be prepared for manual counting and let it be done. its a national election so they supposed to make sure that everything will work out well since a long time ago and not just few days before election, such an unprofessional way of excuses for them to postpone the election.

No, election should not be postponed, it will go ahead as scheduled, otherwise troubles will take place. I am wondering why the COMELEC is not prepared enough for this automated election? They kept on bragging it long time ago but then when the machine tested, it created troubles. Is COMELEC the kind of government agency we cannot be trusted? Every election they generated a bad image and reputation with some questionable results, why this cannot be corrected?Gosh, I am so disappointed with this government agency, very slow and very unreliable. Election should be pushed through no matter what happen maybe they just resort to manual counting if that PCOS machines could not be fixed. Another thing, why they seemed not prepared?I thought that automated election stuff has been planned three years ago. They should have been prepared for the worst scenario by forcing their partners, smartmatic, to deliver the machine last November or December and be tested around March so that if there are any troubles, there are still plenty of time to fix, but they tested it, few days before election, what an irresponsible attitude.

Hi derie, I'm torn. I highly supported the automated elections, until I've heard the news about PCOS malfunctioning left and right. I think we as a nation should be supporting the automation, but it seems the people behind it, or maybe the logistics, are not ready. Maybe I'll settle for the parallel counting. But I still want the automated whenever and wherever possible. Good luck to all of come election day!

It is definitely malfunctioning and we're only counting down to a few days left until election day. Dang. We cannot postpone but we have back up plans, well they should have back up plans to prevent any problems from happening. Until that day, we can only hope and pray that this will all be over soon and will have a new set of leaders that will give us a brighter future. I am for the automation however if this continues to happen then no problem we can always do it the old fashioned way right?
