Miss Ohio Teen Pageant question?

How would you feel if your daughter went and done a photo shoot and got interviewed for Miss Ohio Teen Pageant? Then you had to wait 7 to 10 days to see if she made it in? Well my daughter went through all that and we waited to see if she got in or not. Talk about being on edge to wait for the phone call to see if they denied her or if they said she got in. Well that day came we got the phone call and the lady said your daughter made it in the Pageant I was so excited for her. Now she has to go in for training. I am proud of her. Now how would you feel if your child made it?

We get those invitations in the mail often. I have to be honest...there is no way I could afford for any of my daughters to even go for it. My oldest was put in a baby contest, but all I had to do to get in for that was to hang up posters all over town and such to work to pay her way in. She took 3rd place. Best wishes to your daughter with the pageant. Marsha

aw I am glad to hear your little one got in. Yes it does cost some money but I think it will be well worth it in the end. Because she will have her paper saying she can model for any company even if she doesn't hit the top 5 in the pageant. Thank you Marsha for the best wishes.

I would be darn proud. I am already proud of my daughter(she is only 2 and half). If she's gotten into something like that...well...I don't really know how I will feel, but I think I will be excited and yes, proud. Deep down, I want to be famous even if it is just in a small scale. I probably will not be able to handle it, I mean about being famous and all, but it's a good dream. Congrats to you and your daughter. Best of luck for the Pageant.

Thank you I am very proud of her. She always said she wasn't pretty enough to get into anything and I new better. I think if your daughter got in you would be excited, proud and scared at the same time. But you get to be with her every step of the way and that is good also. I don't want to be famous but I would like to live comfortable with know worries about paying bills. So now my daughter has that step and she can make a better life for herself.

Good for you and your daughter. Congratulations! I dont have a child and I'm still unmarried. But I can feel how proud my parents are when I receive (even my brothers and sister) some recognition. Especially when I was still studying and receiving very good grades. I always top my class during that time and I can see the glow in their face and how proud they are to me. What they dont know is I'm also proud of them cause they raised me well. Love them both.

Thank you very much Bhemzky. My daughter is still in school and she gets good grades and I am very proud of her for that. That is great to hear that your parents are that way. Parents that help educate there kids and stand by them through everything are great.

Oh dear I don't think that I will be very popular but I detest the thoughts of these beauty pageants; perhaps it's because I'm not American and so not grown up with them, but I do not like the thought of young girls been paraded up and down and voted on their looks. Sorry!!

Its not just based on there looks. Its based on what they want out of life. They get asked questions. They want them to look natural not a person packed with makeup on there faces. They also ask if you help out in your own community. The bigger pageants like Miss USA are based on a lot of the same things but also there looks count.

I think it's great! And knowing you, you'll not let it get out of hand for your daughter. So I say you should both enJOY this time, whatever the outcome! You and your daughter should be coming to my area of Ohio soon for this, correct? We need to keep in touch so we can try to meet each other while you're here!
