Yeah, I hate myself so much for my laziness. I think laziness is the biggest barrier that keeps me away from progress. I know laziness is bad, but after trying much, actually I can't say much, because there's nothing can be said Much when there's matter of bettering ourselves, attempts for betterment can't be considered MUCH. I am steel able to completely get rid of laziness. Sometimes I say to god that "When you send me in this world next time, please send me without laziness". My god please save me from this disease...........

Yes,I hate being lazy also. Being lazy just makes me even more lazy. I think not being busy or not doing anything makes one lazy. This is according to my experience. Before I got my current job,I used to just lie on the sofa, watch tv,or use the Internet and just being lazy all the time. ang now that I already a job I am less lazy than when I didn't have one. I think it's because I just got used to not doing anything. I think exercise is also one of the influences of being active, less exercise or body movement cause weak
body that easily gets tired.

@wes_one: I too love sleeping the whole day. I even tried waking up at 3 pm already. When I woke up and looked at the time, I almost didn't believe that it was already 3pm. I thought that the clock was just destroyed. I was shocked.
keval32: I have experienced what you have experienced also. I could get so busy at one time and when I get so lazy and tired, I just do nothing, and just keep being lazy.

Laziness is in the mind of the person. What is laziness? What is progress? Do you think you are here to do some work? Or to live?
It all depends on your sense of responsibility and "mission" I guess.
I do not think I am here to change the world, but if I will succeed, it is a bonus for living my life as I liked. If I want to just play computer games all day, I do that. If I want to research something new, I do that. There MUST be something that gets you moving...
Programming makes me moving. I LOVE programming. What do you like doing? Sports? Surfing the web? Writing? If you find the thing that moves you, you will be drawn into action eventually, since one action follows another and here goes your laziness. What you shouldn't feel is a sense of shame or self hate - this will only get you down.
So, back to the solution - what is it that you like doing?

Well... a long one :)
You are right - you should always strive to improve, but how can one improve when he is ashamed of himself, which leads to sadness which leads to... well... laziness. A smart man in about 1100 said once that our people lost the connection with God because they have become too sad and thus were unable to "fix" themselves enough. There is a lot more into it, since he wrote several books to make his point, but eventually, you should do what you like, and get the power FROM it to do what you need. This is what I meant by "action follows another". About making a living, I guess you mean money? Well... I make money staying in front of the computer, so doing what you like to do CAN make you money.
You can, for instance, start a computer biz. This will get you to do what you like + make a living. As you get into it, you will start thinking of things to improve your skills and biz, which will lead you to gladly to things you would not do now when they are not so fulfilling..

My friend, I like to do chatting, I like to do surfing, I like to be with computer hardware. By this you'll probably say that do what you like. That's Okay, but what abt the things that I don't like? What abt making my living? If I would keep doing what I like, then how I'll feed my self? And what abt other things to do in life? Life doesn't mean to do what we like, sometimes we have to what we don't like. I also don't think that I gonna change the world, but I think that changing my self is in my hand. I think I should feel the sense of shame and guilty if I do not so, then I'll never get rid of this problem, this sense makes me conscious towards my minus points, and I think that this will be helpful to make my self better and better. Contentment is what makes you away from progress. I am not satisfied with myself.

Sounds as if maybe you need to boost up your metabolism and your spirit. I have some days where I just feel so lazy and I hate it because if I give into it then it is such a waste of time. I usually force myself to go for a walk or do some exercises which will boost the metabolism. I also will have a couple of cups of coffee to get my energy going. Put on some good music and focus on accomplishing something with my day. Good luck, Keval. I hope you manage to find a way to overcome this. Life is too short to be wasting time doing nothing.

I do have lazy days, and I don't really like it either. It's not so bad if it's one lazy day once in a while, but more than that I start hating it. I really do start disliking it, when I have a lot of days that I'm not productive one way or another.

hi keval, yeah,i have lazy days also and sometimes i really hate it!
but it do happens! sometimes i guess i'm being lazy because i don't have sleep much enough to gain energy and do my duties. well,i'm trying not to be lazy sometimes cause it's a way of not getting improvement and not getting any progress at all.
sometimes the work you have done when you have been lazy may still be your job in the next day.so if you have goal on something, make sure to always move forward, don't stop! being lazy is really not good!

Hey Keval..I'm a very lazy person as well. So lazy that I hardly go out on weekends caused I'm holed up on Facebook and Mylott :-) I always postpone things thinking I'll do it later and that later doesn't come!! I've put off doing my laundry, the dirty clothes are just piling up. Hehe. Gotta do the dishes now! I'm lazy but when I suddenly get outta it, I work hard to keep everything clean and do all the pending work that I put off for later. I wonder if there's any remedy for getting out of being lazy???

I can recommend you what I am doing to get rid of it. Although I didn't get 100% success yet, but still I would like to recommend you to do that. What I am doing is; When I feel that I'll do it later, for instance I have to go to reply to an important e-mails, when my laziness says "keval, put it off for now. You have whole the day to do this". I would immediately ignore this message and would stand up and go to my computer and start replying e-mails. That's it. I try to get rid of this by this way. You may follow me if you wish.

I know how you feel, that can be a hard feeling to have on one's self. I think you just need to try to direct your feelings more positively. That too can be hard but it is very possible and the more you do it the more better you will feel and it will then become a habit and when something becomes a habit you will realise you don't have time or room to feel bad for much too long. Now once you have taken care of that you can address the lazy issue, you just got to make a habit of doing stuff then that too can be kicked to the curb and you can have a new habit of not being lazy, the more you do it, the better you will get at it too. Good luck.

I feel your pain. i suffer from the same issue. there are times where i can't even peel myself up off the bed, and that just can't be because i have kids. There are even times when i am starving but can not muster up enough energy to make something to eat...even if its microwavable. Sigh... i absolutely hate the feeling so i kno where your coming from.

Lazyness is very bad and holds back our developments in our life.Yes.this quality is with every one - but it can be eradicated by constant practice and strong will.It all needs a strong determination to complete the works on hand. There is no theory to read to develop ourselves for laziness by one's experience this can be totally removed and you can become an alert person.
For this small bad reason of your you need not request God to give another birth.he has give you a very good body and a very sharp mind so I suggest you to use those which are free you need not pay any cost for those.

I myself have lazy days. There are days that I really don't feel like moving a muscle, specially when I am so down I just want to stay in bed the whole day.
But we can't stay lazy forever or we will be hungry. We have to get up and do something to make our lives better. Simply focus on your goals and what you want to achieve in your life. Make it an inspiration for you to stop being lazy.
May everything turn out well for you. Good luck.

I feel the same way. I dont have any earnings to contribute to my family's expenses. I am looking for a decent job who's going to help me regarding our financial status. I felt that I am lazy cause I am jobless. My routines are just eat and sleep, I am not worthy of living this time. Hope I could find a job.

I have my lazy days as well, and that's going on for the past months already. I hate it and what more, I get frustrated because I can't even motivate myself. I know it's not good but still, I'm not doing something about it. But then, it's not a simple case of laziness now. This is just an effect of something greater and more serious. I have been in this same boat for the past months now but I'm really hopefull that I'll get out of it soon...and the laziness will be gone as well :).
Allow yourself sometimes to be lazy but be careful to not rot in it. You're correct. It doesn't give you a good feeling. I would appreciate it if you also share how you'll get out of it :).

Like you, I also consider myself a lazy one. I do wake up from bed very late in the morning. I even try to neglect a meal just to continue sleeping. All I want to do is to earn money just by sitting down which is I guess a little difficult. I have a good job now but I got tired of it already. I cannot understand what do I really want to do. I easily get tired and bored from a certain job. I am tired of washing the dishes as well as doing the laundry. But, I never blamed someone for this nor myself. I always try my best to work for it and little by little, I am getting over with my laziness. All you have to do is to set a goal for yourself and give your best shot to achieve such goal.
