Can you be honest? Would you vote for a politician how stood on a manifesto similar to the one below? "Well, I can't say much about what we will do when elected, to be honest most things are out of our control. Gone are the day when governments could control the economy; global corporations can largely dictate the terms under which they operate. A powerful press in the hands of a few crucifies any genuinely original thinking. Bankers and Stock Brokers have such power over the economy that there is little we can do to affect matters." all the best urban

I don't think so. I would still vote for someone who thinks he can make a difference and do something for the economy and country. Why run? If he/she thinks that he/she can do very little? Politician have the power to bring or inject hope among it's constituents. It's not just about reality they are dealing but keeping the spirit of hope in its people.

Btw, I would vote for an honest politician but also someone who brings hope and believes that he could still do a lot. What i meant in my original response was that i won't vote for someone who seems to be so negative.

Do they make those? There isn't an honest politician made. The way to cure that, it election of one governing party with the guts to implement DIRECT DEMOCRACY LEGISLATION. To control them. Then, have the citizens write a constitution, no holds barred, and ratified by the population. Politicians are human, with all of the frailties associated. THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED. That's is why I lead the BC Refederation Party. http;//www.refedbc.com We don't trust any. Us included.

Do I want an honest politican? Yes. Even if he is telilng me something that is not so great. I would rather have the ugly truth than a pretty lie. But most of the american public does not feel that way. As for what he is saying...well there is some truth in it. We have a gobal economy. If we pass laws in our country that restrict corportaions too much...they will go to countries with less regulation. So we loose jobs. Companies have a lot of choices when it comes to what country they want to open factories or operate out of. We need the jobs...so do other countries....so the companies really have the upper hand in the whole process. Sad but true.

your discussion is just right and timely for the Filipinos right now, for tomorrow we will be electing new sets of officers to lead our country. and i would say that i will certainly vote for an honest politician, though i could not vote right now, but when the time comes, i will certainly go out and vote for that honesty. but who knows if a politician is honest?. once being elected, the promises are then left behind. hmm. but i think, a country and every nation deserves an honest politician..

It is important that we vote for honest leaders. If not, dishonest leaders will only be enriching themselves and use people's money to propagate their own businesses. Honest leaders will have the people in mind first and foremost above their personal good.

The most honest statment from a politician I have heard in years. They connot possibly be in control or do their jobs when they have to spend five hours a day fundraising for the next election... It is no longer about the people it is about the money...

i would definitely vote for an honest politician but not only because he is honest. he should also show that he is fit for the job and that he has integrity. he should also have the brains to lead the country into a better future.

Of course I will vote for an honest politician ,but most politicians weren't honest. As an honest people,he shouln't cheat his countrymen. As an honest politician,he should be trusted .So I will vote for an honest politician even if I have no right to vote for.

Of course lol. Does anybody here like a liar politician? lol I dont think so. Being true and honest politician is molded by a good family, He is a God-fearing and knows how to be good towards other. Some politician is just hidden in a mask for the purpose of winning. Some are just using a good speech and answer just to show the people he knew everything.Be wise and see their background and whom they are with vote wisely.

He is certainly too honest. But I will not vote for him. He's too damn negative. He's not even thinking of ways to improve the situation. What kind of leader is that? What's he gonna do if ever he's elected? Just sit there and let the situation got worse? So honesty is just one of the traits that I want to see in a politician. But if that's all he got then no thanks.
