Just one day before national elections. I was wondering, how will you choose our leaders?
Is it by what he can do? That this leader is not corrupt, can do what he says..?
or is it by platform is his party? that this party would want something to happen...?
Im still on the stage of whom to vote for.
If its going to be Gibo for what he can do. or Noynoy, because of his solid platform(and party)
Gibo, yes he is capable. But if Gibo wins and then Mar/Binay for VP, dont you think they might just clash? in the end, the result for our benefits will be at stake.
How about you what do you think?

One of the biggest problems in our country is that we all drag each other down. So what if Gibo wins as president and his VP is not Edu, nor someone pro-current administration? Is it a VP's job to drag his president down? What happened to platforms and promises? Is bringing someone else down THE reason and motivation why these politicians want to run government? I thought we wanted employment, education, less pollution, fundings?
Gloria has yet to be proven guilty for crimes she allegedly committed, but we have to let go and keep her from being the sole reason some people are running for government! We put too much focus on GMA, we forget the things we SHOULD be worried about in the next years and generations to come. I am not saying it's a lost case against her and just leave her be, but at least not let her take the attention away from issues that mostly need it.
Pollution, private armies, pr0st!tution, education, agriculture, employment, everything else but her!
May I also add that later in the elections, I do hope all of us vote for who we truly feel and think and BELIEVE is capable of handling our beloved country and who can decide for all of us.... and not just because the "surveys" say so.

To answer your question (because I think I may have gone a little off the topic), I am choosing the best candidate for such a high and demanding position and responsibility ACCORDING TO his capabilities, and NOT his platforms. Platforms are almost always empty promises we like to hear and trust will happen (but not most will) simply because we like it.

hi sweechi,
I choose the leader I want by his capabilites first then platform follows. I want a leader who works and not just talks. What we needed is a change. What we needed is a person who knows how to deal with difficult problems, a person who is brave enough to face the problems with his actions and not just with his words. Noynoy don't have a bad records. He seems to be the avatar of his parents. But have you ever think, if Noynoy do anything to make our country lessen its burden? Had he passed any law? Is he really determined to run as a President or he just run because of what other people is saying on him. Before he was asked if he will run on presidency and what does he said? He said that their family is always the one carrying the burden and problems that one's administration will leave and now he will run for presidency just to handle the problem again of our country? Is it good for a president to be? I can feel he was very hesitant with it. Noynoy has no bad records and indeed he had done nothing. He just talk and talk but with no actions. All we need is an action and not talk. Aside from that, he was born with a silver spoon on his mouth, are we sure he can understand the situation of the masses? I doubt so. About Gibo, I admire his intelligence but he is an ally of GMA. We had proven that our president is very greedy in terms of power and money. He is an ally of our president and no doubt he can be one way in which GMA can do anomalies again. We really should think very carefully before we cast our votes and do not just depend on media or what other people is saying.

yes i do see your point. Media can just really tell bad side of a person causing them to be dirty. Whoever wins this election I hope everybody will respect and still support who is on the top. The leaders can really move if the followers are hesitating to follow. So much rebelling happening in the Philippines and I doubt that everybody will support the upcoming leaders of this nation. We have our time to express which one we felt would be the right president. But after this, we may like or dislike the result, but we still need to be aware of what our leaders are doing and support them for the good of the country and let him/her pay the price of his/her crimes(if this person is corrupt.)

Capability for me. does Noynoy really have good platforms? But what if his party never wins and only him? Noynoy really never passed a law, what changes do you think he can make to change Philippines. Many people look at him as someone spotless but people wake up... when he sit in the presidency I think it would be more stressful. How do you think he can cope? I mean cope in a way that he will be able to think correctly on his feet?
There are better candidates out there besides the 2 you mentioned, time to change your mind.

well i know gibo is smart but i will not vote that is an ally of gloria. Im just hoping that the next president will convict gloria.
So many evil men in our government, that i think it will take more than 1 term to take care of it.

I'll be choosing my candidate by all the things they have done not by their platform. They can go on all day talking about their platform but without solid proof in the past that their platform is doable then no thanks. I'm rooting for Gordon. I don't care who will be the vice president. After all in the end the president will have the last say. I think its fine with me if either Gordon or Gibo wins. I think they are the most suitable candidate for the presidency. Just my 2 cents :D

yes Gordon is actually something! HE had done a lot for the country. But he's not really not known to the people. I think Gibo will have a stronger chance rather than Gordon. You know media, the more you messy the better for them. Since Gibo's party had a lot of trouble specially during this election, where he resign as the head of LAkas-CMD party, there where speculations and others which became an expoture for Gibo to the media. Although political party may see it as worse, it did made an effect to let the people know about Gibo.

if there is a choice, i will take the two, capabilities and platform. why choose only one if we can have the two. i think there are leader who have both. but are we forgetting one important consideration here? i'd like to put forward the character of the person. s/he may be very capable and has a working platofrm, if his/her character does not fit to the fit to his/her colleagues, system, and overall vision, then we have the tendency to return to dictatorship.

A person with capabilities is a way lot better. Platform will just follow if that leader knows how to lead.

well, sweechi, the choice should be between personality and platform. a platform already reflects the capability of a candidate and vice versa. so, what do you think?

I will vote for capabilities. If a person really work for people i will choose him. It does not matter he is from which platform.
Yes i also think they might just clash.
So choose the best person who is really helpful for people.

i think that our leaders should possess both capabilities and platform. he has to be capable for the job but should have focus on what he will do to make a better country. in gibo's case, he is both capable and he has focus on his platform. he is one candidate who chose to put forward his platform (which he fully understands and believes will work) instead of resorting to mudslinging. if the Pres and VP do not belong to the same party, then i think it should still work IF both have the same goal: to make this country a better place for the people and for them to have a brighter future.

I am thinking it should be both capabilities and platform. There is no sense in having a platform if the leaders is not capable of doing them and also they could have all the capabilities in the world but if they don't plan on using them it will be useless.
Well the VP has a very limited role unless something happen to the President. So I guess you could just choose the VP you would like to be President in just in case something happens.
