I am afraid of snakes. I always think of them as harmful creatures. In our trip to Bohol, I saw the biggest snake that my eyes have ever laid on. According to the posted 2005 data, the snake is 200 kilograms, length is 23 feet, and the body is 30 inches. When you look at it, it looks like a coiling coconut tree. It is usually fed with raw meat and animals. They should make sure that this snake can't get out of its cage. It would be very dangerous to the neighborhood.

I'm not afraid of snakes, but I'm also not a snake fan. If I run up across one outside my yard (or inside my yard, if it's non-poisonous), I let them be. They are great pest (mice, rats, etc.) deterrents. However, last year, I found two rattlesnakes in my back yard. Those I killed because I didn't want them hanging around (they are territorial) my dogs. Like I said, I'm not afraid of them, but I'm not crazy about them either. I wouldn't have one as a pet; let's put it that way.

I really dont like snakes. everytime I see one, i feel like they are all over my body. I know that not all of them are harmful but I just dont like to be around witn snakes. I know they are one of the most misunderstood creature, but I I understand that snake bites are really painful and might kill you as well. I am afraid of snakes.

As far as I am concerned, I think I am a person who is usually afraid of the crawling animals, especially the snake . When I just see the snake is just crawling on the road, the skin of me may get so nervous. I think I just can not describe the feeling in my heart. It can be so frightened to me in my bottom of my heart.I think I do not like to see it at all.

Hi merlibradley, yes I'm afraid of the snakes; I don't like it's slimy scales and I'm not familiar with snakes that has a poison so I don't know why some people like to make them as pets. Snakes are predators of rats; maybe this is the only advantage of having some snakes around the farm.

Yes I agree that snakes can also help us in some ways but they are still scary. :)

You should not be afraid of snakes. They're the one who's afraid on us. Poisonous snakes like cobra attacks only if they feel they are threatened. And big snakes like the one you described is so slow you can probably outrun it before they can grab you. Don't believe everything you see in movies.

Of course it is natural to feel afraid of snakes. That is natural instinct to be afraid of it. But I think snakes are more afraid of us because they see us as much bigger than them. They only attack when they feel they are threatened to protect themselves. But if they can avoid us they would at all times.

Yes, I am very much afraid of snakes. Its really hard to predict what they are thinking and that's the reason why I fear them. Besides, the appearance alone, it is something to be feared already. I have visited the snake in Bohol and it is indeed very large.

Yes the appearance alone is scary. I was confident to watch the one in Bohol because it's inside a cage hehe.

I am not afraid of snakes per se, but I am afraid of the potential harm that could come from an encounter with a creature that does not speak my language and could possibly feel the need to protect itself and therefore cause me harm.

I am not that afraid of snakes (I think). I'm more afraid of cockroaches. I really hate them! Haha! One of my close friends in college is terribly afraid of snakes. Even just seeing snakes on TV would send chills down her spine. I also saw the python in Bohol. It's probably the largest snake that I've seen in my entire life. The caretakers said that they feed it with a piglet every month, I think. But I think I'm going to shiver if I'd see one in action - crawling and seeming to follow you every where you go. Hehe!

Yes... I am afraid of snakes. It's scary just thinking that you'll die in just a few minutes or even seconds once you've been bitten by them. Also, I don't know how to deal with them in case I am alone and there is a snake in front of me. Others say that we should not move or else the snake will attack us? Not really sure about that part... I just heard it.

I heard that too. I don't think I can do it though because I will run as fast as I can when I see one free snake.

When I was still in high school a long time ago, I was very much afraid of snakes. I saw it one time crawling along the path I was walking on. When I saw it, I couldn't utter a word because of too much fear. There was also a famous local movie that time about dangerous snakes which aggravated my fear of snakes. But when I grow up, I became less afraid of snakes. I've learned that not all them are dangerous and not all have venom. Usually, those with triangular shape head and sharp looking eyes (not the rounded ones) are the ones which have venom. But snakes should not be used as pets in the neighborhood. They should be kept in zoo so as not to endanger anyone.

I agree that they should be kept in the zoo. I have seen guys on tv who have snakes as pet. I think the neighbors are afraid to go near their house.

This thing in bohol is huge and I don't have any idea what will I do if I can encounter this anywhere. I always see snakes everywhere even in our backyard but not this big.I wonder what these creature ate when its in the wild or especially if this thing can get out of his cage. This snake can actually swallow a whole person.
There's no problem if it small but that big like in bohol its actually a different story.

Hi merli bradley: For some people snakes are beautiful and I think that if you know how to appreciate their colors, the way snakes moves to catch an animal, etc. You have to admit they must be right Buut.. and that's the problem, I think as you do because I'm not used to snakes so I see them as dangerous animals and i'd be scared if I see a snake of the floor. I'd probably run for my life. Thanks for asking us this question. Have a niceday.

Definitely YES to this question you posed merli.Snakes just really scares me.I couldn't even feel comfortable watching TV when a snake is portrayed.I just don't like it's looks from the slimy texture of it's skin, to their round eyes going to their tongue, then the way it slithers,it's color oh my gosh,I even have goosebumps as I'm writing these lines. And you know, due to this fear I got with snakes,I even dislike cats because it's tail looks somewhat like a snake when it moves.Yucks! I just can't overcome this fear.

I didn't notice the tail of the cat which looks like snake until you said it. Now I can imagine how it looks like haha. I'm glad we have no cat in here.

Believe it or not I am not I wanted one for a house pet but no one in my family agrees with me getting which truly sucks....I think that they are great house pets if you chose the right one.....Now in the wild they can be very deadly and dangerous so watch out and practice the proper safety precautions. I heard there are new kits just for that ocassion.

I am not. You know why, most of the snakes are not poisonous. As long as we donot disturb their freedom/privacy they are okay. In our area there is a non poison snake. It occasionally comes to our garden when there is a very hot climate. With little sound made by us in runs away.
