like many others i would want to be considered materialy rich. i would not want to abandon my principles and values either, but having some spending money or money for investments would not hurt either. sometimes i think we always barely get through. just when we get some money, then expenses increase. like car repairs, sickness, payables, etc. i am not even through with all my payables yet and there are other things to pay again. sigh. when will this end? i guess you can say that even rich people have their own debts to pay. and they even have bigger debts. but sometimes it really grates me when i work so hard and do not seem to have enough. even just to pay bills. we keep huffing and puffing running after our debts and expenses. i sometimes wish that i can pay all these already. i am nowhere to reaching my goal of paying our debts by june 30. sigh...too bad. i am looking forward that the new business will really help our financial income as a family. my husband and i are both working on it. how about you? what do you think of this?

there's nothing wrong if someone wants to be a rich. i know most of the people aspire on it. and i believed that anyone deserved on it especially those people who strive their best and worked hard without deceiving.

Hi ptzkoh: Exactly. Many people want to be rich, because, in fact, most of us have some difficulties because of the lack of money. And if you are not planning to do something wrong like scamming people to win more money or to do something illegal I think it's a good thing to wish to be rich and progress. I think we are here in this world for a reason and to be rich can be a way to show that you are succeding. It's obvious that money it's not everything but at the same time, there's nothing wrong if you want to be rich.

I really do not think that aspiring to become rich is not bad at all. What is really wrong is how you become rich is what really matters. I think if you can get more money through the right means then I do not see anything wrong with it.

Really well said, rsa101! I totally agree. If you do illegal or bad things just because you want to get rich, of course it is bad, but if you get there by legal and good means, then I do not think it is anything bad either!

I think that some people want it so badly that they forget the "real" important things in life and sometimes get obsessed with trying to reach their goal. There's nothing wrong with trying and I certainly don't think it's wrong, although I don't think people should limit themselves when it comes to making money. That's in the sense of trying far too much and doing too little, I think everybody as the thoughts of being better of. (I do) Then again I wouldn't want to be too rich as I don't like the idea of the pressures which come with it. I like keeping things simple :)

No, every people can be rich. There is nothing bad of dreaming to be rich. Sometimes I feel frustrated in life, like you. Paying bills is never ending. If only I can sit down after a day without eating because I don’t want to spend money I can do it, but that is impossible. You know my earnings is just for paying bills and debts. Nothing left for me and another month again, we need to work hard and pay the bills again I am so tired. I believe also rich people are experiencing this, the only difference is they know how to get money and the know how to make it grow. So they are paying their debt and they still have money to save and to have other investment. Rich people think big especially business man. We can do this also , we just have to be financially literate and take risk. Hope your business will be successful.

I think that it is wrong to want to be rich to the point that you have absolutely no clue whatsoever of what to do with your money. However, I don't think that there is anything at all that is wrong with just having the desire to have enough money that your family is debt free and comfortable. I have no desire in my life to be filthy rich, but I do have the desire in my life to be able to provide more for my family than my parents were able to do for my siblings and myself.

I don't think wanting to get rich is a bad thing at all. I know I do, and I'm sure most people do too.

I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to be rich. In fact, I am working really hard right now to become debt free, to become financially independent. I wasted a lot of time and a lot of years not being responsible enough with my money, and I have suffered the consequences of my actions. In the last few years, I have started reading financial, business-related, and self-help books trying to increase what Robert Kiyosaki calls my "financial IQ". If you are serious about getting rich, you have to take the initiative to make it happen. I highly recommend Robert Kiyosaki's book RICH DAD POOR DAD. It will completely change the way you think about money, and it will help you realize that if you want to get rich, you have to learn the way money works, and you have to make money work for you...

Yes, my friend. I face the same problems as you. And I want to become rich as well. But we must obey the law and do not do the illegal things. Every month I should plan how to spend money and also want to save some. At the end, some things will spoil my milk. Some accidental things always happen. Need to pay money. Maybe this is life, my firend!!!

From the wisdom of Agur found in Proverbs 30:7-9 "Two things I request of You (Deprive me not before I die) Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches - Feed me with the food allotted to me; Lest I be full and deny You, And say, "Who is the Lord?" Or lest I be poor and steal And profane the name of my God. I think it's natural to want more, but I'm not sure it's always a good thing. With me, right now, I want to be out of debt.

Are you on a written budget? Do you write out every month, where all your money is going to go? Do you have a plan, and follow it? I know exactly what you mean, when you talk about "spinning your wheels but going nowhere". I've been there, done that. Let me tell you how it works for me. Maybe it will help you, and maybe not. Everyone is different. The biggest thing I did was make a budget. Gather all your pay checks from last month. Total up how much money is coming in. Then total up all your expenses. Every peso you spend on food. Every peso you spend on rent/home. Every peso I spent on car, fuel. Just on food, I found I spent too much on going out to eat, and soda drink. Cut that down, and saved tons of money. Now you have every bill, every expense, and the total money coming in. This is the hard part. Determine what you can afford, and make changes if you can't. List your expenses by priority. Food is number 1, obviously. Then home. Then electricity or heat. and so on. What I found out doing my budget was that I could afford everything, but I couldn't pay off my debts. I was spending every dollar I earned. That was going to get me nowhere. So I had to cancel TV service. Stop going out to eat. Even canceled my cell phone. Stopped going to movies. That seems harsh, but hey, it was either keep living the way I was living, and being broke, or change and pay of my debts. I am currently 100% debt free. Owe no one anything. I have $3,000 in the bank, and a retirement account with a thousand in it, and wow... when I go out and buy something, I just pay up with cash and do not worry about anything. It's a good feeling. It was worth it.

I don't think it's wrong at all to want to be "rich". I think money is very important for what it can do for us. Having money, or a lot of money is not the problem. It's peoples reactions to having a lot of money that causes the problem in the world. some people allow money to manage them rather then managing their money. have a goal, focus on it, give back, and you will soon see you will have all the money you ever wanted.

I don't think there is anything wrong with wanting to get rich. I do think that money doesn't necessarily mean happiness. But, it is hard to get by when you don't make enough money. It is stressful and emotionally exhausting always worrying about money. Personally, I don't need to be rich. But, I would like to have enough to pay all my bills, put some in savings, and have a nice time every once in a while. I am tired of worrying about money. I hope everything works out for you!

I think it's perfectly okay to want to be rich. In fact, I see it as my birthright. I should be rich and will do anything within my principles/values to get there. Everybody should want to get rich.

I am pretty sure that wishing to be rich is not bad at all. I want to rich for many reasons. Being rich will have lot of benefits like a good life style, good education to coming generation, make my parents happy and relaxed, lot many things that we wish but can not fulfill because of money so why not to be rich. Rich people have their own issues but not the one that we face and similarly we do not face those issues which rich people face. Its good to face rich issues after being rich :)

almost every single soul i know want to be rich. and that is not wrong. what is wrong is the manner of getting rich. it should be within the bounds of morally-accepted methods of getting rich.
