i was just listening to this song, and every time i hear this, i can't help but remember my first (and only, actually) major heartbreak. do you really think that the first cut is the deepest? can you still remember the first time you had your heart broken?

i think that is true.. the first cut is the deepest. it sure is... at some point and though you will be cut a few more times, the first time would always hurt more than anyother hurts you will go through. maybe because this first heartbreak is not expected (at least not as much as we are sheltering ourselves now knowing we could be hurt). the first time is always the most memorable because we'd never thought it could hurt that much - but the succeeding hurts would probably be milder as we already know how to cure and to mend our hearts.

Heal of a broken heart should be loved more..heart has to be given an heal, a peace and support. To focus on a different activity, work and giving heart a time to rest itself out of all sorrows.

I can still remember my first girl friends, although it was has been 15 years and i am merried now.
But, as far as i can remamber, I don't felt hurt that time.
The deepest cut i been trough was when my lates gf cheating on my with my best friend. Maybe if she run away with other guy, i can forgive her.
But, there aren't any wound that can't cure.

Hello allamgirl, I think the first cut or first being broken hearted is really the deepest. Falling in love for the first time was all so wonderful, being with someone you fall in love with deeply, then suddenly something comes up and you need to both partways and it's really so hard to accept it.
I can still remember the first time I was totally broken hearted but I already moved on, it's been for several years and I'm so deeply in love with my boyfriend now. It's always nice to feel in love again and again. It's through heartaches we learned more to be strong, to be open minded and wise in every decisions in life.
Happy mylotting.

I would actually disagree, but it's more of a hypothetical disagreeing. By this I mean that yes, the first time I had my heart broken, I was devastated. I was about thirteen or fourteen, she was my first girlfriend, and then her family up and moved to Alaska, leaving me in California, just ripped to shreds.
However, in retrospect, I can say that the relationship was not really how it felt at the time. It was really just a lot of awkwardness and clumsy parroting of what we thought a relationship was supposed to be. Compare that with my current romantic relationship, my marriage with my wife. This is real. We're not in this to impress anyone, nor to make others believe in the truth of it. This is for, of, by, and to us. If I were to lose her, it would be soul crushing. That first heartbreak wouldn't come close to comparing. Not at all.

yeah, i can only imagine how it would feel like to lose the person you married, the person you chose to spend you whole life with.
