Yummy, right? It was the only thing that sort of calmed me down yesterday after a bad afternoon. LOL. At first, I don't like the smell until my best friend convince me to have one. And it was one of the greatest taste in the world. When I was in Dubai, I had a great time just walking around because Shawarmas are everywhere. And they make they make the most delicous Shawarma. Though there are some fries included (yep, there are french fries included in their toppings) - it was really delicious. I can eat two or three. Only when I am really hungry. =) Here in the Philippines, their toppings aren't bad. But whenever I am in the mall, when not in a hurry, I always stop by and buy a Shawarma. I know the onions could bring a little smell to your breath but I always brought a mints/listerine with me. Just in case. lol. How about you guys? Do you like eating Shawarma.

YEs, actually, in my country, they are quite famous, you can have it almost everywhere you want, but unlike most of the populateion, i hate shwarama, unfortuanatly, I just dont like it, here we call the bread, roti, and its very hard, and you ant just bite it and hope that it will come off easily, and as fo rthe fillings, i think, if i made my own shwarama, it would taste a lot, lot, better than what is sold in fast food restaurants and other clubs, its just too much bread which you cant chew easily and too less of thosse fillings which make it worthwhile to eat a shwarama, i think i have to visit Dubai to know how a real, juicy, scrumptious Shawarma tastes, then i shall be satisfied, :) Happy-Mylotting,

Absolutely love it!! Here in Russia, Shawarma (or here it's pronounced Shaurma) can be seen sold anywhere especially in Moscow. It's not a Russian delicacy but everybody sure loves it! As far as I know, the food was brought to Europe and elsewhere from these "Stan" and Arab countries, centuries ago. There's a lot of variations depending on in which place they are sold. Say in Germany they would rather call it Doner Kebab, or Gyros in Greece. I can't agree more about the smell from the onions, most probably because they would just stuff it raw, as u might know. Nevertheless, the taste is wonderful! And gotta love the special sauce too!

Hi, Hati. I really dream of traveling around the world. To get a glimpse of every taste and culture. And I envy you because you're the type of person who knows much of the world. I hope someday I could visit the places you've mentioned. Not mainly because of Shawarma. LOL. Hope you'll add me, my friend. =) Congratulations! You have my best response. =)

I like it, but don't eat it very often due to the calories. We have a few shawarma places in town. Sometimes I buy the shwarama meat already cooked and sliced in the grocery and make it at home. There is even have a frozen vegetarian version of the meat. It's really yummy.

Hi, miss catlady. I am happy to see you here. How are your cats? =) You might want to watch the movie, Hachiko. Coz I know you're a pet lover. We don't have a vegetarian version yet of the Shawarma. But we have the pizza version. Yes, I understand it sometimes why my mom ate only half and let have her other half because she's on health watch. And because of calories too. The beef, mainly. I hope we could have one here too. The vegetarian versiion so that all of us can have a taste. I don't know how to make a homemade one. Maybe because of the sauce. LoL. I know the other sauce is made of just garlic - the other one - I am still researching. MAde me wonder if it's oyster sauce mixed with something. Happy weekend to you, Miss catlady. Take care always. =)

They sell shawarma spice in the grocery stores here. If you have any ethnic middle eastern grocery shops near you they might have it. There are so many yummy foods from all over the globe. I wish sometimes I lived in a big city so I could have access to them all.

there was a time when my whole family was crazy over shawarma! it became our midnight snack of choice. we are fortunate that a really good store was very near our home (just inside the village). we must have had too much during that stage that by the sight of it now, i'm like... shawarma... naahhh. u don't buy anymore, but if someone gives me, then why not, right? cheers and happy myLotting!

May I know where do you live? So that I could transfer in your place and have shawarma all the time? LOL. Unfortunate of us here in Cebu. Shawarma lovers are mall dependent because they are only available in malls. We don't have an independent 24 hour shawarma store. Unlike you. =( Lucky for you and for your family. =)

That's okay, garneta. Not liking shawarma won't make you a bad person. =)) You and my aunt are the same. She's a little choosy with her food. If she doesn't want it, she doesn't want it. You're in taguig? I wonder how are the elections there. Is is settled yet? Hope you'll accept my friend request. =)

hi, nasa. Yes, Dubai or UAE provides one of the most delicous shawarma in the world. I remember my father, giving me the what-is-it-now look because I always ask him money. Aside from Shawawrma, I also love the arabian bread. The one that cost only a dirham and it's a round bread. Like a bun. MAde me miss Dubai. =(

me and my wife enjoys eating shawarma. but we have different of toppings. i dont like the veggies and onions but i love the one with cheese. my wife wants with everything on it except the cheese. we always have mints in our pockets so no worries. do you know that only the poor people eat shawarma in middle east. i guess its a poor mans meal as what i heard. dont really know if its true. but since it is beef it is not a poor mans meal here in our country.

I get you se7en. Whenever my cousin and I are in the mall, well, I don't like it when cabbage is included. LOL. I don't know. I feel like a goat eating grass (no pun intended). As for cheese, it's optional. Depends on my mood. As for the breath, nah! LOL. As long as we ate a good food. We only worry with breath whenever we're on our first date or in a very important meeting. Hmm.. Never heard of that expression that it's a poor man`s meal. Beef here, in kilo, is like 300php plus per kilo. That's a mystery. Thanks, seven. Happy weekend to you. And hope you don't mind me adding you. =)

Yes, shawarma is one of my favorite snacks. I used to dislike shawarma before due to the foul smell but i have learned to love shawarma when my partner encouraged me to try it. the shawarma i tasted was really good! it was located in bf homes paranaque city... whenever we go there to buy some foreign television series and movies, i always order two shawarmas with cheese. yummy! it is not only delicious but affordable as well.. i wanted to try the authentic shawarma, ones located in the middle east but i don't think it's possible. hihi

LOL. I wish I could go to paranaque in an instant so that I could have a taste. Maybe I should do a travel show - traveling all over the world for the different versions of shawarma. LOL. May I know the name of the store? Maybe this July, I'll go to Manila. And maybe I could drop by their at BF homes and find that store. =) Thanks for that recommendation! =)

I had a Schwarma sandwich the other day. Chicken. The thing I didn't like was the bread - it broke very easy, so the sauce was all over my hands. They say donair and schwarma are the same things but I have donairs virtually every week but the meat is packed into a harder pita bread and does not break as easily.

Donairs. Honestly, I haven't heard about it until today. And I am very curious on what it taste like. I hope to find one here in Philippines. =) TM! you're almost in your 500. Keep up the good work! =)

the good thing about shawarma is that it's not just a snack, it already a meal. It's heavy and you feel fullness with just one serving. I have not been to Dubai but even the local shawarmas have different taste depending on whose preparing it.

Yummy!really Yummy!!!! The best arabian food. i had chicken Shawarma roll in England. I bet you , thats the best one. i had the same in India , and it was quite ok. Didnt match U.K made but alright. You know something , the shawarma roll is not fat free but still its not spicy and it does good things to your tummy. no acidity , no indigestion whatsoever. There's a shop here in Bombay in India. They make good shawarma rolls.....mmmmmmmm.....mmmmmmmm.........I feel like eating it now.

I am not very clearly about Shwarma, but form the picture I associate "Turkey roujia mo".you may unable to get what I mean. The so-called "Turkey rou jia mo" ic very similar to Shwarma, just put some meat ,onion and vegetable leaves between two pieces of bread, the meat just baked as Shawarma do.In China,We prefer to add chili patse or sweet bean sauce etc,it depends.Just like totallyundecided said When I am in the street not hungry but I still stop by and buy a "Turkey rou jia mo".Do you want to try the delicious foot?

I've never heard of Shawarma. Where I live, the closest thing to food that isn't a burger and priced out of my budget is Taco Bell.

Oh wonderful post! I love shawarma rolls. Here in India, we also get vegetarian shawarma made with paneer (cottage cheese). There's a joint named Siddiqui near my residence which sells the most delicious Shawarma ever!!
