After having a lot of bad things happen with our Dell printer and getting terrible customer service we had to go out looking for a new printer! After the terrible service we got with Dell we decided to go with a new brand! We got a HP! It has the normal printing functions, it also has a fax, scanner, and copier! The ink is also about $30 cheaper then the ink we had to buy with the Dell printer! Have you had any experiences with a Dell or HP printer? If so how was it? Can not wait to see the responses! Happy Mylotting!

oh wow, thank you for sharing that about Dell. I have had irritating experiences with their customer service lines too. I can't stand them, and that is why after my couple of times I just chose to stop calling them. I did not buy a printed but have had a Dell computer and after 5 years of use and being kicked around literally, its still running. It sounds like your new printer is a good choice. Do you mind sharing the model and cost?

You are welcome! I am always glad to let anyone I can know how bad of a company Dell is! Glad it is just not me that has had bad experiences with Dell's customer service! I also have a Dell computer and can not wait until I can buy another new computer! Not sure what brand of computer my next purchase will be though! The printer I got is a "HP Desk jet F4440" I think it cost about $45 and it works great for that price! Thanks for posting! Happy Mylotting!

I remember you telling me about the problems you had with the dell printer. I really think it was wrong and misleading of Dell. In any case, I do believe family has had an HP printer before, but the last printer we had was Canon and now we have a Kodak Printer. Kodak Printer's are supposed to be cheaper on ink, and the last time ink was purchased I believe it was cheaper. Hubs and I don't actually purchase the ink. I think that the trouble comes with bigger printers more so then with just a printer , scanner.

Yep - I also remember now telling you about the problems I had with my Dell printer! Yes.... it was very wrong! I also thought about getting a Cannon but after getting the HP I am happy because it really did not cost that much and it was of good quality which is hard to find sometimes! Thanks for responding! Happy Mylotting!

Good Quality Anything at a fair price is getting harder and harder to find, but am glad you did find a printer that suited your needs and was fair.

I've always been happy with my HP, but it is over 10 years old and ink (its an old - what would you call it? laser jet?) is $100, but it gets hundreds of pages out of it not a scanner tho

its the kind you would have found in an office, black and white only, printer not scanner or copier or fax

I am glad that someone has been a long lasting person that enjoys HP printers! Wow... ten years is a long time for a printer in my mind! I hope mine will last that long! I am not sure that they called them "laser jet" at that time period! :D Any way that really is great! Happy Mylotting!

Well, our HP printer is over 5 years old. But the last few months it has stopped working..I don't know how long printers last, but I was upset because before a trip we recently took, I was going to print out puzzles for my son to do only to have it quit printing..:(

Glad to hear that your HP printer lasted for 5 years! that is actually pretty good for any printer brand! After that lots of things will start messing up and it sounds like yours has! I would not be angry with this brand because this happens to all printers when they get that old! I hope you buy another HP printer that lasts you a long time! Thanks for posting! Happy Mylotting!

I love HP products! I have a laptop from them that fell off a table and still worked just fine, much to my amazement! And I am on my 2nd printer from them since the first one was so great. Had the first one for over 6 years and never an issue til we moved and it got broken, so had to get another. I think you will be very happy with your choice! Take care!!

In my vast office work I have used several different printers. To name a few HP, Compaq, Epson, Canon & Brother. By far the HP's stand out to be the best ones. The ink is not terribly expensive and they normally print the fastest and the prints are quality prints. I have an HP Copier, Printer, Scanner at home that I love! The next in line for me would be Epson because they are fast and produce a quality print. However, the Epson takes several different inks to create color copies and they are all fairly expensive.

Glad that you also find HP printers to be the best! You are also able to back this up because like you said you have used many types of printers! I have also noticed that this HP prints at a faster rate and better quality then my Dell did. The ink is cheaper for the HP also which is nice! Over all it is just a great printer! Happy Mylotting!

I've had one Lexmark printer and two HP printers. The cheap Lexmark printer was what I got at Wal-Mart. And, it ended up being not a very good printer. It actually didn't work for very long. I ended up getting a HP desktop 2660, and it was very reliable. It work pretty much anytime I needed it too. The only problem I had with it was with a sensor. When you would get ready to print, it would not grab the paper. So, I had to trick it a few times by taking the paper out and putting the paper back in. But, it would work once it realized what it had to do. I sold that printer to my neighbor and got another HP printer a HP Desktop F2480. It has a scanner along with the printing functions. So, far it is working fine and it is reliable.

Glad to hear that you have had good times with your HP printer! Actually the Lexmark printers are what Dell buys and puts their name on them so I know how crappy those Lexmark printers are! Do far I have loved my HP printer and it has worked every time I needed it to! Thanks for posting! Happy Mylotting!

I had 2 HP ink-jet printers, ink quite expensive. Tried compatible cartridges and 4 out of 5 had to go back as faulty. The biggest problem was that the sheets would not feed tyhrough straight, after few thousand sheets, mind. Dell cheapie came with new PC asa freebie. Total rubbish, gave it away. Now have 2 Canons very pleased with low ink cost and performance

Wow.... hard for me to believe that you thought the HP ink was expensive because the ink I found for HP was about 3 times cheaper then the ink I had to buy for my Dell! So far I have not had a problem with them and I hope I never do! I can agree with you though that Dell is a dishonest and cheap brand! I also thought about getting a Cannon but ended up with HP because if the price! Thanks for posting! Happy Mylotting!
