What is the 40something woman like in your country?

Hi, Here in South Africa, it all depends on the woman - some are old before their time, but most ZA women of 40+ are at the height of their careers, with children already in their teens, so they look good and enjoy life. Age is a relative thing - you are as old as you feel! Don't let anyone tell you differently! 40+ is the most exciting time in a wman's life - believe me! Always take good care of yourself and don't ever wear 'old women's" clothes and hair styles! Some conservative women, like in past years, believe they have to start wearing a ceratin kind of clothes and hairstyle when they turn 50. My daughter has actually pleaded, threatened and forbidden me to do so! So, Colorful, no matter what they say - you are not old. Dolly yourself up and be as young as you feel, my dear! We have beauty on our side that men don't have. Tha's why they refer to women as 'middle-aged' and 'old'. Show them how beautiful you still are - and do it for yourself! Cheers, Virgo9.

Geez, I'm 41 in the US, and I hardly even think "middle age"! I'd say most of us women in our 40's here are still young and kicking . . . of course it depends on the person! My friends my age (plus) - some are married, others are still dating amongst the 40's crowd. I would have to say my husband and I are still very much in love and we intend to keep it that way. We have 2 very young children for "our age" - and there's no way we could keep up with them if we felt middle-aged - hee hee. For the record, I am Asian too . . . I know what you mean.

Hello colorful friend. I love the saying that life begins at forty, either for men or for women. I think that women at forty are more attractive as they have experienced so much about life. My wife just turned forty one a few months ago, but I am still love her deeply. I think that she is more attractive than before. So there is no worry about women being aged forty something. Age is not a block for the love between the man and his wife.

Welcome to mylot, 2040 colorful. Here in the U.S. women of every age can be beautiful and desired. Women in their 40's are not considered old...they might be middle-age but they are normally pretty confident in who they are by that age.

Goodness me!! I am almost 60 and yet I still don't feel 'middle aged'; in England women of 40 are still classed as being fairly young and the majority of women of that age are young in looks and mind. I actually had my son when I was 45 so there's still hope for us 40+ women!!!

Hi! I'm from the Philippines,and women here in my country in their 40's i just beginning with their lives. When a woman celebrates her 40th birthday, they will always say "life begins at 40". I admire these women at this age because they are mature, yet still know how to enjoy life like an innocent kid. They are hardworking and able to help their husbands raise their children. Maybe some are not lucky enought with relationships but still they continue to empower themselves. And you know what, they are more beautiful in their ages. A lot of them do not look like 40 at all.

I think here in the philippines there are still quite a lot of people who would not think a woman in her 40's as not attractive. Times have change and people kind of get married late nowadays unlike from about 10 to 20 years ago where a woman in her 40's are sure to have been married with 4 kids. hehe :D

it depends on the particular individual. everyone has their own look, and do what they want. some women in their 40s are fat or have baby-fat. some look young for their age because they take care of themselves. and some look like old hag battle-axes because of their hard lives.

it depends on a woman.some women are working out,dresses nicely,and can really fool you about her age.some women are complacent and are dressed up that shows their age.in my country,most celebrities that are 40-somethings and some women who have the money will undergo medical procedures to keep their looks younger.this will help them attract younger lovers.

I dont think so in our country India. Middle aged woman is so busy with the children and society works. she is very active. Most of the woman are going for job and they are respected by the society. Men are attracted apart from beauty in middle aged womans. Thats a good thing isnt it?
