Horror movies that have fantastical elements don't scare me very much, but horror movies that have a base in reality, or are based on true stories actually scare me. One of the scariest movies that I have ever watched is titled Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It has a base in reality so it just had this eerie tone.

for me its "the eye" that scared me the most, and also "The Ring"..
both are really scary i watched those two i think it's almost midnight and i'm the only one watching it.. after i can't sleep..
but i still like to watch horror movies alone even i can't sleep at night..

i guess the grudge gets my vote because it was so weird and the actress was well known for being in 'nice' things so it was extra shocking. the story was set in an everyday situation so you felt it could definatley happen too. the effects were well and truly scary so i guess the film makers did a good job!

Honestly, I only remember seeing one scary movie in my entire life that actually scared me. That one movie was Stephen King's It, it scared the Bejeepers out of me I think that the reason that I was scared because of that movie was because of the fact that I was younger when I saw it and I was still in a place in my life that I thought that what happened in those movies was real. However, now that I'm older I realize that they are fake and they really don't scare me any more.
