I am one of those people, who really does enjoy listening to music, when I am in the bath/shower, or cleaning, or sitting in the garden, or even driving. I just think it's nice to have some kind of background music to listen to whilst you are doing things around the house. I prefer it to the TV. I love the new kind of stereos that have mp3 capability to them, so I can burn a CD with hundreds of songs and play it on my stereo, knowing that I am not going to be hearing the same song over and over. I guess the music that I enjoy listening to would have to be pop, and stuff like that.... whether it be pop music from the 70's or the more recent stuff... it just seems nice to be able to get on with every day chores, and sing along to some pop lol.
So what does music do for you and do you have a favourite type of music that you like to listen to?

the difference is obvious, between audio and video. watching television, you can't drive and if you want to be a superhero and insist on watching television while driving, chances are you won't be able to watch the next show. with music, you can do whatever you want... you can just sit and pass time, you can read a good book, you can even do the cleaning in the kitchen, etc. etc. but for me, i really want to enjoy every note of a song and each lyric of a composition... music feeds my mind...

Yes, it is easier to put music into the background than TV programmes. As a teenager, I used to do my homework to music, but it had to be instrumental or classical music, not anything with words.

The thing music most does for me is regulate my mood. When I am in the classroom I play music to help keep things calm. Even if the students aren't calm, I am and better able to deal with them.

Music has always been something that is calming to me and as such I find that I listen to music on a very regular basis. That said, I listen to all different genres of music because of the fact that music has always been a part of my life. The music that I find that I listen to the most frequently at this point in my life is country. I think that the reason for that is because of the fact that I live in an area where country music is very popular. However, I think that it also has to do with the fact that country is what my mother listens to the most frequently.

I believe form the time of my birth up to this day I love listening to music. My family loves music. Music makes my stress diminish, it makes me relax. and you would not believe I can study with music. For me it is easier to have a music in the background because I enjoy it and it keeps me awake. For everyday of my life I have music as a background.I love songs from the80's and lovesong from the 70's and 80's.

I was born into a family of piano-players and there was music in the house nearly all of the time, so as I grew up, I got to associate different situations with different music. I started to learn to play the piano myself when I was about 7-8 years old and eventually became a professional musician working in bands/clubs. I like all types of music but went mostly for modern jazz._Derek

The lyrics puts words to my feelings and the instruments put sound to my emotion. I listen because it reaffirms what I am feeling. In times of sadness, I have a playlist. When I am trying to fall asleep, there is a playlist. When I'm angry at the world and want to rock out to something that will express my anger, playlist. I listen to my music wherever I go, thank goodness for the iPod.

I also like music to be the background when i am doing something. I live along so if there is some sound around me, i will feel less lonely and not that afraid. Music helps me to make the atomosphere at my home alive. Normally i'd like light music, and some very soft ones and some that make you feel a little sad. I think that kind of music is very moving, they can really touch me and they sound very relaxed and very quiet.

I love music... it really feeds the soul. I recently found a couple of sites that really got some really cool beats and tracks from all over. Worldwidebeats.com has like over 4,000 producers from all over the world!!! Beatmastaz.com has like some of the hottest new talent communities out there from poets to film producers to new music talent. Its really cool. Oh yeah... I also found a site that has free things for people who are wanting to start off doing beats and those who are veterans too. Its call FLstudiosamples.com .

Music has made me a much different person than i was before
I used to be very vioent and headstrong and stubborn
I got into a lot of fights when i was younger and then i got into a band
the fighting didn't stop immediately but as we got older we got tamer and more considerate.
music has given me a new purpose in life

Depending in the mood I'm in. Music can definitely make me sad, happy, thinking.. Different emotions depending in the kind of song playing. I'm an open person, anyone would tell you that I'm unpredictable when it comes to music.

Music makes me feel so much better. I love lyrics alot and I try and connect them with my life. I listen to music while I clean beacause the beat keeps me going. My mind will race a million miles an hour and when I have hip hop music or country music playing my mind will just play out the story of the song instead of going elsewhere. I love all types of music country/rock/hip hop are what I listen to the most. But I love music from the 50's and 80's and I also enjoy listening to classical music before I go to bed.

Music is like a medicine that heals the wounded feelings. This is according to my own experience. I love to hear music like love song. I can relate to it. And music also when we hear changed our emotions suddenly depends on what type of music. If it is a love song we feel inlove, if it is a joyful song we feel happy and so many type of songs are being composed according to the compositors feelings. Music for me is a good source of emotions.

I believe there's more to music than only listening to get feelings...I rather listen to metal, neo-classic metal, alternative..while listening, I try to guess what intervals bass and guitar are playing, pick up the rhythm..so I can analyse and understand the music.
