My mama always tell me not to take a bath at night specially in the afternoon. Because it will cause anemia. The platelets will become less if you always take a bath at that time, she said. But in my case I always wake up late. I can take a bath early only if I have an important thing to do outside. At night sometimes I take a bath also in because of the hot temperature we've experience in this summer. I feel refresh after taking a bath that's why I can sleep tight at night. it's very much bothering me, what if my mom tells the truth? every time I had my medical test my problem is always my blood counts. I just wondering if taking a bath in the afternoon is one of the reasons why I always have this problem. Can you help me to figure it out?

Did your dr say that it was because of taking a bath at night? I've been doing that for as long as I remember but my blood count is normal. Maybe you should try taking iron vitamins or eat food with lots of iron. I don't think that the bath is the reason for your health problem.

hmmm. i always take a bath at night but i am not anemic. but yeah, i know of that superstition told to us by the elders. maybe you should ask the doctor the scientific and medical reason why your blood count is low. maybe it has to do with your diet or other matters. hope you take care always! cheers and happy myLotting!

baths do not cause anemia but it is advised that if you already have anemia 2 cold baths a day will greatly help people with anemia. anemia is caused by iron deficiency.

cupcyke if your red blood count is low you are anemic and not because of a silly bath. Your body just did not get enought iron and vitamin D in your food so its what you eat and did not eat that affects your red blood cell count, not a silly bath.bathing at night I have done all my life and yes I am anemic but not because of bathing at night but because I did not get enough iron rich food and enough vitamin d so now I take an iron pill every morning and get a half hour of sunshine for my vitamin D intake. ask your own doctor as he will laugh himself silly over the idea of night time baths having anything at all to do with your anemia.

Hi dear! Of course its just another old wives tale. I have been taking a bath in the evening for as long as I can remeber and everything is normal with my blood. But if your doctor tells you not to do it because of certain conditions, then dont. THe doctor can recommended you supplements if you do have problems with your blood count.
