Were you an organized student?

It is hard to get organized in anything and school is no exception. However, it does make life so much easier. I had different folders for each class. A planner that detailed all of the assignments that needed to be done. I knew where my pencils, my pens, my paper, and other items were at all times. However, not all students were not like that. They just threw everything in the same place, crumpled up and just hoped for the best. I guess this could work out in theory for some people but there were times where it caused them to not get everything done on time. So how about you? Were you organized? Looking forward to reading your responses.

When i was in school i was not at all organised, i didn't knew where i kept my pens, my books and i used to often lose them. Now i am doing my engg, but still i am not well organised.I was damn serious about my studies but for the last 10 months, i have become very careless and sometimes i think that studies are not for me, it's not because i cannot learn things fast, but only because i have been lazy these days.

Laziness can be a very bad thing. It is one of the contributing factors to lead to being disorganized. I remember the times where I did not have it all together. It was very frustrating to say the least. I am glad when I kept organized, as life moved a lot more smoothly for me. Thank you for your response, it contributed to the topic well and it was much appreciated. Have a nice day and thanks.

Ahhhh, When I was in school; seems so long ago. I was alot like you in that I was fairly organized too. In the American school system you almost had to be that way. those students who were not often got left by the wayside. It pays to be organized as it will help you later in life. Don't you think?

Absolutely, it pays to be organized. Not only that, but it really pays to be organized from the beginning. You're going to have to do it anyway later on or you will get left behind. So why not start right from the start? Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I always was early at school, in college, in university with all books for the day and note books too, all homework done properly and maybe neatly. A planner was with me every time and I guess that's why I am a person who seems to walk with time today. Every of my stuffs were organized and I like it when every things are done like this.

Yes everything does seem to go much smoother this way. Granted, it might take a little time. However, you could argue that it takes a lot of time if you do not stay organized. So its just best to do everything right. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

As I said before, it is always down to what worked for each individual person. If you got by great being organized, then you did if you did not, you did not. Thank you for your response, it was much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I was not organized then, and I'm still not organized now. My coffee table is my catch all. Which means, when I get mail or buy a magazine, it lands there. It seems like I clean the coffee table when I'm looking for a bill to pay. I know that is not good, but that is just how I am.

Yes it helps keep everything straight. It can be a jumbled mess otherwise. While I do not by any means have a poor memory, I cannot remember everything off hand and always needed a bit help. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I remember with some amusement that I never organized in school. I keep forgetting deadlines and thus miss some of them. There's also the fact that I always had something else in my mind outside of school as I really hated it.
Cheers~

Hi,
I used to be a organized one I think, follow teachers' advice and requests(I dont know why but it's ture that majority of teachers at that period always amplified the importance of order )
I was called good student during my school time and the definition of "good" at that time was just listen to teachers......
So......Then..............

In most cases, I think the teachers have a pretty good idea of what it means to be organized. Well, the one's that are good anyway. You can kind of tell who knows what they are doing by how organized they are. It is best to follow their lead. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Ah yes, I would be one of those you imagine just throws everything around and hopes for the best. lol. But the thing here is, although I am disorganized, I know where to find the stuff I need. That's why sometimes it is troublesome when someone cleans my mess. Then, I wouldn't know where my stuff are.
However, I do recognize the benefits of being organized. That's why I am trying to learn to be more organized now. Hehehe.

Well the main thing is to know where the stuff you need is located. Otherwise, it would be quite the struggle to say the least. The funny thing is that while I am organized when dealing with school, there are other times where I am not. And when its cleaned up a bit, it is worst. Like my desk at home, it might be difficult to find a lot of things to many people but I know where everything is despite everything being a bit messed up. So I guess school worked for me because I was organized and everything else works because I am less thank organized. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I prefer orgainizing myself, we never fail to go wrong or miss out on something or forget to carry along with us. Only planning takes a bit of our time but it saves us from various problem. I Always maintain & insist others as well. It is a part of my daily routine life. Good have a good day!

Oh I'm the exact opposite. I only do my assignments when I remember that I have one, or I wrote it somewhere and somehow saw it accidentally. My notes are also all over the place, it's not even organized by subjects. I try my best to be organized, but I really can't. But somehow, modesty aside, I get good grades. I guess how I study eventually helps me, cause my study habits before the test is somehow working for me. :)

Well, as long as its good before the test. I do think that different people function better in different ways in school and someone might actually suffer from organization where it might help another person. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Hi Megamatt,
I was very well organized as a student. I had all the files labelled and subsections added. My biggest problem as a student was getting through all the work. I made my plans but didn't always do what I intended. Sometimes a coffee with Uni pals is much more attractive than more revision.

Yes, it does seem like that a lot of the time. You know, I am sure I could look over this or work on this a little bit more but I would rather do something like that. Granted, there are times where I do not need to put in any more work. Other times I might have been better off. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I'm not quite an organized student I can say but I always try to be organized.hahaha..I will try to set things according to its priority like which assignment needs to be finished first and so on.But, I always ended up doing assign-hoping especially when I stuck on the first assignment. Then I will do next assignment without finishing the previous and at the end, the first assignment will be finished at night before submission. My bad...
The opposite is I always make sure my surrounding is organized. I will arrange my stuff properly and easy to be reached.I don't like messy place because the best surrounding will give me peace after struggling to finish the assignments..hahaha

It is all about what works best in the end I think. Also, one thing to consider is that there are various stages of being organized. Some person's being organized might be another's state of disorder and confusion. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
