The picture is of one of the wonderful cakes that my clever daughter makes!!
Helen has been making cakes for around 12 years now, in the early years she made the cakes for mainly family and friends, and her business was mainly coming from word of mouth, but soon, she decided it was time to make her own website and start getting business from the general public www.cakedesignsbyhelen.co.uk where she has a huge selection of photos and prices of the cakes she has made before.
Here is a quick list of just some of the occasion cakes she has made:
Rugby player
Bratz
Fimbles
Snow Whites Cottage
Pepper Pig
Betty Boop
F1
Pirate ship
Princess Castle
High School Musical
Football cakes (Liverpool themed but done for any team!)
Helen makes the cakes all herself, and is hugely talented, using the best tools and equipment to create the most beautiful cakes. Her designs are unique, and handcrafted, but if there isn't anything on her site which caters to your needs.
I am very proud of her.
Have you had a specially designed cake at all?

She has an amazing talent! I have seen professional cake decorators on various food related TV shows, and she is right up there with most of them. Her van cake reminds me of the van that the Scooby Doo gang had in the cartoons. I'm sure she could do that too. When I was ten we had to do a patriotic project for history class. We were supposed to display the American flag in an unusual way. I did an American flag cake. It was fun! Of course I didn't have to do anything special for the shape of the cake, but it was so fun using cake tools to decorate it.

oldchem1 that is really clever as you say , and my adult son would say neat. I can see how she would make a great business out of her talent. she is really gifted. WE got one on our twenty five anniversary that was two fat numbers put together 25, and it was so good, white frosting with chocolate cake and a chocolate filling. My mom ordered it for us for a surprise from a small family owned business.Other than that no, but I will never forget the lilac tinted birthday cake I made for my moms birthday as her stone was the amethyst which is purplish. My dad would not eat it as it to him was an icky color but she loved it and the cake came out really well. after awhile my dad even ate a piece as it was really good. I was only 12 but farm girls learned to cook and bake at a young age then. back in the thirties.

I saw a fantastic Lush themed one- it looked like their bags and had other small cakes that looked like their bath ballistics and bubble bars. I never knew such fabulous designs could be done with marzipan...

My mum used to make wonderful cakes. She did one for her friends retirement which had a person sitting in an armchair with a little cat beside her & a cup of tea on the arm of the chair etc. Until a couple of years ago, when my sons left home, I made all their birthday cakes... wigwam, galleon, Mr T, Mutant Hero Turtle, R2-D2, a dungeon, Mr Ben... They were fun to do - tho obviously not as accurate as those you've shown in the photos . I loved making them 'cos I'm the mum and they loved the fact that they were specially for them. I have a friend who makes and sells ckaes and I did get her to make them for my mum & dad's 70th birthdays and for their Silver Wedding.
It seems that you have 2 artistic daughters (or is it the same one?)

Some people are really talented on their own ways and forte.
If you are a born artist, nothing is impossible when it comes to art.
It's like an engineer,or an architect that do their best to make the best plan or design.
I admire people who got talents and really used and improved it.
I had seen lot of unique cake designs, from birthday cakes, wedding and for other occasions.
That's a good cake

A VW cake? *drools*
I saw a bunch of pics of video game inspired cakes on Flickr once, and thought it'd be cool to make one for my little cousins birthday.
I ended up buying a cake from a bakery, and scraping the ambitious project. I should have mapped out a simpler design.

I never done like this might be after I hear you this way.
I like to bake cakes in different designs and styles. The
problem does not yet have tools for baking. I already
study a basic one of this but not enough with the way your
daughter accomplished. Keep up the good work and art in
baking such wonderful design of cakes and it is the favorite
of all the design attract everybody to each of that nice
design so much more with the taste and delight of it.
She has a very good talent and amazing skills for that.
She has a wonderful and nice enterpreneur soon in her baking talents.

Your daughter really has talent. Beautiful cake.
My daughter had a teddy bear cake for her 1st birthday made by my husband's Godmother. It was sooooo cool. The reason being that my husband had a Teddy Bear cake for his 4th or 5th birthday and he loved it. So we were trying to see if my daughter would like it too. She loved that bear cake.
Thanks for sharing, oldchem. If we ever come to England for my daughters (either one), now I know where I can get cool cakes.

Well, the last cake I ever saw had my dad's face on it... Imagine how I felt whilst eating his mustache. .
That's something I know I won't be trying again. .
