We've all come across a lot of really stupid people.. and a lot of really stupid statements. I can think of a few people that never say a single intelligent thing!
But what is the stupidest thing someone's ever said to you?
I was once having a conversation with a girl hubby worked with... this was years ago when my twins were babies. We were talking about smoking while pregnant. I quit smoking while pregnant with the twins.. but did go back to smoking awhile after they were born. She was also a smoker, but did not quit for her pregnancy. And her stupid comment was....
"Well the worst that can happen is you'll have a low birth weight baby.. and who wouldn't want that?"

On the low end of average, Ok, but really low? Nope. Dumb...
How about this one? When my father-in-law found out that Dearra was a lefty, he wanted to know if we could train her to be a righty. Why? Well known folk legend over in Germany - lefty's aren't as smart as rightys.

I just figured most parents would want their child to be as healthy as possible... regardless of the weight.. I'd rather have a c-section to remove a large baby than have it be too small... but obviously she's a bit more vain than that.
When my MIL saw my oldest eating with his left hand she said we should tie it behind his back to force him to use his right hand. Apparently there used to be an old superstition that left handed people are evil. Well the last time MIL came over for Christmas my youngest was right around a year or so, and he was eating with both hands, and MIL started to comment.. you should have seen how fast hubby shut her up, lol. He didn't end up left handed though... only the oldest is.

I'm glad mine were small, but I'm even happier that they were healthy. Actually I had a c-section with the twins anyway. The idea of having a huge baby is scary to me, not anything to do with vanity, just OUCH it's gonna hurt. But yeah, better large and healthy than small (or large) and not.

I remember a GF saying the same thing to me many years ago and SHE WAS A DOCTORI couldn't believe my ears. I know that I have so many examples but cannot remember right now. Am a bit frazzled. The scary thing about these people is that they reproduce!

OMG! How terrible! That must be the scariest thing in the world.. and you'd think they'd notice from your heart rate and blood pressure. OMG.. I'm so sorry that happened to you.

That was not very smart. I have had alot of not so smart things said to me...one that really bites me is when you sit down in a restaurant and order your food and someone at the tables says...Are you going to eat all of that?....like they aren't going to eat? I am not alot over weight....I take offense to that too sometimes...

Somebody once told me that I am "Miss Know-It-All". I guess it's really stupid for her to call me that knowing that she doesn't know anything about everything. When she blurted some words, she always get it wrong, and so when she makes a mistake, I corrected her, but she sees it in a negative way and she just told me that I am assuming that I know everything. Well, I guess she's just too dumb.

Sounds like she's just irritated that you keep correcting her... most people don't like being corrected, even if they are wrong.

I love when people ask me "are they all yours?"... do I look stupid enough to bring someone else's kids to the grocery store with me?

I used to dye my hair a shade of eggplant.Very deep purple in shade and very obvious that it was a dye job. Not one of those colors you could say only my hair dresser knows. A young lady I worked with stated to me." Gee, I wish my hair was that color but I was born with blonde hair. "I'm not sure if she really understood this was not my original hair color even after a stated this to her ,because her next comment was "Did you get it from your mother or father?"

My daughter was born with dark hair and around the time she was maybe 6 or 7 months old it started to grow in lighter. Someone shopping at the mall actually ASKED me if I dyed my baby's hair since it was dark at the ends and blonde at the roots!
Who dyes a baby's hair?! Heere's your sign!

I think what she said to you is really ridiculous because there is nothing related to the weight of the baby. Once someone told me that because I saw two similar birds together I will have the worst day in my life. This is simply not wise but I will say superstitious and even we should have a limit on that.

That is a pretty darned stupid comment. However, I can completely see my mother having said something like that after I was born. I was over nine pounds when I was born and my brother and sister (both younger than me) were slightly bigger than I was.
However, the stupidest thing that I've ever had said to me is "Don't you know what causes that?" When referring to the fact that I was pregnant with my son. Of course I knew what caused it and I wouldn'thave been in that situation if I had not genuinely wanted another child.

I remember someone saying to me that I'm a crown. Say what? "crown"? what the heck does that mean? I was in line then at school. Suddenly, I felt the urge to pee so I told the one next to me to save my position cuz I just have to go to the nearest bathroom quick. He said yes. Then I came back and there were I think two or three people added in the line at the back. Then I went back to my position in the line when suddenly someone blurted out saying I was a "crown" for cutting the line. It didn't make sense to me so I just ignored it. Besides, the dude was smaller than me. He knew I could just kick his @ss right then and there if ever I got pissed off. Lol.

That would be true if there were only 2 racers.. but I do know a lot of competitive people feel like it's a total loss if they aren't in 1st place.

One of the most recent stupid comments I've said to me involved my dog... he's only a puppy and has yet to learn not to chase chickens, despite him undergoing training to snap him out of it.
My co-worker who knows I'm a strict vegetarian, and who works with me in an animal welfare organisation, said to me:
"If your dog killed that chicken would you eat it?"
Why on earth would I eat it?! Does the fact that it's been killed by a dog rather than in a slaughter house make it ok to eat?! Idiot!
