I already gained two inches in my waist and I have already gained weight because of eating fast food. I admit it's not very easy to quit because these fast food joints are all over the place and they taste good that it is so hard to resist. But I really wanted to quit eating fast food and start eating healthy. Can anyone give me a sound advice on how I can quit?

hi,caliya: i almost havn't gained the fast food.i do my cook myself mostly.i think if you have some spare time, then you should cook by yourself.should you do some healthy cook, such as sala, vegetable soup, etc.after some days, you will find that you don't want to have the fast food any more.

Hi there! Thanks for responding. The trouble is I am not very good in the kitchen. But I guess I can try cooking simple healthy dishes pretty soon.

hi caliya you know if you want really quit eating fast then you have to be really strict on yourself. First of all you need to be patient as you know it won't happen overnight so plan well cut down slowly overtime. So if you eat junk food more than once a week, then just cut it down to once a week, then cut it down to twice a month and then once and then just cut it out totally. You can try playing some fun sports, as well as it being god for your body it will make you feel good about yourself. You also will get into the habit of wanting to keep up the good health and naturally motivate yourself to stay away from junk food.

well instead of looking for fattening food then stop in to get some salads instead. Or simply just say NO to fast food. Have discipline.

Well, the main key to achieve your goal, is called Self-discipline. It is up to you if you really want to quit and how would you resist temptations. You should always keep in mind about your goal everytime you see a fastfood chain. Well for me, eating in a fast food chain isn't that bad. But everything that is "over" is dangerous. I just make sure I exercise every morning and I will have time to burn the calories that I took. But then again I will say, It's self discipline. And don't forget to exercise to stay fit.

i am so glad that you plan to quit eating the fast food...but to stop a habit not easy...but you must have to insist on...the fast food, yes, just like you said they are all delicious but can put on our weight fast...but we all can't help eating them...so if we wanna qiut eating them just step by step to reduce...it mainly depand on our psychokinesis...

Its very difficult to quit eating fast food. One needs a lot of determination and mental strength to do that. I think you should not think about quitting it altogether but just reducing your consumption.Start little by little till you find it easier to resist than now. Also try to find new taste in healthy foods and eat them more often.

You must have a lot of money to spend to gain weight that much. It's actually very easy for others to say things that would encourage you to stop patronizing fast foods but it's really up to you to do the action. It's your body, if you want to look good you just simply cut back or stop eating unhealthy foods altogether. We can give you a lot of advice but if you are determined to act on it it's all useless. Besides, who says fat is not beautiful? if you think you look good inspite of a few lounds overweight then who cares? but if you want those curves again and look and feel good about your self then it's up to you to do it. I think you don't even have to sacrifice fast food to lose weight, in fact fast foods are even healthier to junk foods.

I enjoy eating at fast food too..as what the other member says it depends on you, you should have self discipline, u can eat the average amount and also skip a day, im saying not everyday. It's hard to quit fast food cos it's been part of our cycle.just eat the right amount..and exercise

it's a challenge avoiding fast food when they're everywhere. you just have to discipline yourself. you already see the result on yourself so that should be motivation enough. eat more fruits and veggies. avoid soda; even those supposedly healthy drinks (like green tea, juices) are loaded with sugar. get some exercise; walking is a good start. good luck.

Do you have a garden behind your home?If there is,you can try to grow vegetables you like and cook some whenever you want.I have a garden in front of my home, although it not me but my mother and father-in law who take care of it.You pick up some kidney beans and wash them, then cook at once, you can not find the same fresh and delicious food in the fast eating restaurant. If no garden, you can try to cook in the microwave oven or just make salad for simple. If you can not get rid of the temptation, then there is another way,do not take much money in your pocket,so when you pass by you can walk away soon.

Yeah I understand where you are coming from on that one, they are all over the place and then when you are hungry and don't feel like cooking, you want something thats basically already done that way you don't feel like you are starving, but what you have to do is go into the grocery store look at the prices of food that you buy at the resstaurnts and look at how much you save so the next time you think about going to a fast food restauraun you will see how much you save if you just go to the grocery store and make it at home, and sometime when you leave the house this may sound crazy but pack a lunch just to ride around that way fastfood will not look as tempting lol.

It's nice to hear that you're thinking of quitting fast food. Though delicious and convenient, fast food does great harm to our health. We gain weight and easily get ill because of eating them. The sooner you quit, the better it will be. I suggest you to replace fast food with fresh fruit and vegetables. Whenever you feel like eating fast food, remind yourself of the side effects of fast food. With this motivation in mind, I bet you'll soon get rid of it. Remember, health is the first and foremost thing.

I wish I could give you advice. I have trouble with this myself. I can however, give you a friendly warning. I lost my gallbladder because I was eating too much fast food. When I got in to college, I started eating fast food all the time! It ended up causing me to hurt myself. This was many years ago, but I know if I had been taking care of myself, I never would have went through that. So, next time you want to eat fast food, think of me! lol! I hope you can reach your goal.

in order to avoid eating in fastfoods, try to eat at home before going out or if you can, try to pack your meals.
