MyLot 4 Life

Had anyone tried or is currently doing mylot for a living? Or at least, is that even possible? like staying here for the whole day: making discussions, replying to posts, doing the tasks, and other things. Can anyone live by being on mylot for 8 hours a day? I don't know, correct me if i am wrong. I also believe that mylot offers more "money" per day as opposed to other PTC sites if you have no referrals. I believe so because some sites only have 4 ads a day, or have 10 or more but offer less $. While mylot does not have any limits as to how much a day can you earn. Assuming you have no referrals on any site (cannot afford to rent, does not want to rent, cannot have direct referrals, etc.) would you be able to live by mylotting all day?

I like MyLot but i wouldn't want to be on it all day. I like variety in my life though i am hoping to build up online work to make a living of sorts. the thing that worries me with this question is what type of responses people will be giving if they try and use Mylot as their main source of income. It horrible when you get long responses which you can't really read through, the good stuff gets lost in the people who are just typing for an extra few cents.

but what if those long responses will really add up to the juiciness of the topic/discussion? well, i don't know. I usually read comments and reply to them, most if it's my discussion and sometimes if it's on other people's discussion.

That much? Hmm. Come to think of it, it's plausible to earn more than $10 a month here. You are, after all, compensated for what you post here. A prolific writer can actually do well at myLot by treating the site as simply an online publication and whatever he/she is doing is just producing publishable stuff.

oohh..$28-$40 a month?? hmm..if that's your total income, i don't think that it is possible to just be on mylot..

no way... i don't think i can ever live with the money that i earn from mylot alone no matter how many hours i spend here... first of all, it is unhealthy to stay in front if the computer for too long everyday... secondly, i don't have the patience to do that... :-) finally, even though mylot does not limit our earning possibilities, but still the earning is too low to make a living from here... take care and have a nice day...

it's been deemed unhealthy, but there are still a lot of people doing it. Especially in big companies that have a lot of clerical work. Anyways, yes, out patience would be really tested if we were to do 8 hours here.

Well in my case even though I may have a large amount of post in here, I won't consider this site a good source of income to live by. I cannot get enough money out of it, but, I enjoy being here. The payout is just a bonus and this would not really make a good source opf income for me.

yes, we just enjoy it here in mylot. Payout is just a bonus. But what if we change that mindset and put it the other way around. Payout is good, enjoying is second. What do you think? i don't know. Just maybe wanting to change our mindsets.

I don't do myLot for a living. I am a therapist/counsellor and have recently retired from seeing clients face-to-face. I come to myLot because quite often there is an opportunity to give people advice from my 30+ years experience as a therapist, which is something I enjoy doing. I have a website and blog that I earn money from also. It would be great if I could get more and more active referrals, because to me that is the best way forward to earn money on most sites on the Interenet. _Derek

yes that's good. We could certainly use our experiences and what ever means to earn in whatever way we can. That is simple maximizing the things we can do. and i believe that is the key to getting by these days.

I'm sure this depends on where you live. In some countries, the amount you can make on myLot if you stay all day and load several tabs -- so you are entering one post after another quickly -- might be enough to live on. Here in the United States, where I live, you could never make enough posts in a day to pay all the bills. Life is just so much more expensive.

what is the "ideal" or comfortable daily earnings there? Yes, cost of living really gets higher and higher everyday. So it really is hard to live by the same amount/rates that we are used to.

I enjoy alot of free time at home as I don't have any kids. But I'm not a person that likes to be home alone all the time it gets boring. I rather be out socializing and having fun with friends or family. That's the only way you're going to meet anyone. But some alone time is needed to help relieve stress and just do whatever you want to on you're own time.

yes i do agree that staying at home really does get boring. But if we enjoy what we are doing, then that would be compensation enough.

I think that this is a very difficult thing to achieve. My Lot is a fantastic site but I just don't think that it's feasible to make a worthwhile living from My Lot! I guess it's just pocket money at the end of the day but all the same, I'm really pleased with My Lot and I will remain here for as long as it is in existence! I don't have any referrals and I really struggle to accomplish anything in relation to this. I also have difficulty creating unique discussions so I'm biding my time posting, posting and posting away in response to discussions created by others! Lots of people do other things online as well as My Lot, I don't, I tend to stick with My Lot. Andrew

Yes, i agree that is is very difficult to do that, but not impossible since there is no maximum earnings per day. For me, yes, it is also hard to think of discussions and what to say or at least in the subject page to keep people interested or at least open them. Lastly, discussions can originate from answering to other people's discussions. Like when i thought of this, i was replying to one of the mylotter's topic about work. So after replying to that, i came up with this.

I am doing mylot because I like being here, as making money here doesn't help me one way or the other. I enjoy sharing my views with others, and I like seeing what they have to say on the same topics as well. When I first started with mylot, I needed all I could get, as i was having a hard time paying my bills, but since March oof this year, things are much better, and I am not pushing myself to make as much as I can. Anything I make is just a bonus anyway. I don't consider doing anything on line as a living, but it just is a good bonus, and nothing more. I am not here just for the earnings anyway, as mylot is much more than that. Good lluck to you and happy mylotting.

yes, most of us started with earning as the main reason for joining, at least that's what i think. But once we really get to know what mylot is really all about, we then realize that friendship and sharing our views and opinions is the real bonus that mylot provides.

What you have raised aylim is a good point. Indeed, I presume there are people making a living out of simply blogging on this site and commenting on discussions. However, I do believe this all depends on whether or not you have passion for the whole thing. I have been in my lot for a long time and the testimonial page is proof is that one can earn a substantial income. I am not yet sure if you can still get paid when the country you reside in does not use paypal?

ah..passion..Yes, and without that and possibly that fact that you are enjoying it, would rule out the possibility of earning in mylot for a loving.

Having just started on MyLot I think you would have to dedicate alot of your time if you were to make a living out of it. It looks good to earn a few cents here and there but nothing more

I don't think anyone can ever make a decent living just by earning from mylot. To most of us, I think mylot is just a venue for us to make extra pocket money. The keyword here is pocket money. I don't know about you, but over here in my country, in order to live a decent life, one has to earn about 100 USD daily. So, to depend solely on mylot for my livelihood is out of question.

ohh..yes, $100 a day would be VERY hard to accomplish here in mylot. Yet, since there is no maximum amount, there still exist the possibility, however small that is.

I wouldn't be able to survive off of it even I were to stay on every day all day, but I would be able to buy some basic things with it. Also yea it doesn't have limit's which makes it sweet, but the downturn is my mind goes blank after a while and I run out of things to say on posts so I eventually run out of ideas and that's when I stop and that's when the money ends for the day :[

aww..maybe that topics are not from your interests so you ran out of ideas. So maybe instead of just adding ALL the interests available, just add the ones that really interests you.

Hi! I'm only here because I love participating in discussions in forums. Getting paid for it is only a bonus. Since internet began, I engaged in forums because I want to practice my English. I am an aspiring writer although this is very far from my present job. I cannot stay in front of internet for eight hours, it makes my eyes feel hurt. My work involves using computer for eight hours and using internet at the same time is not possible. I'm glad I have found this forum.

yes, this is really just a big forum that we can discuss and share our views freely. As compared to other sites, this one covers everything under the sun. yes, most of us were having regular day jobs, so doing 8 hours a day in mylot will not be possible.

Hi, friend. I guess no one here counts on mylot for a living, which is something quite impossible. It's true that we're paid for sharing ideas and thoughts, but what we get is not as enough as to support ourselves. We are not earning $50 or more a day, we're earning cents. Though there isn't any limit of how much we can make every day, only a few can stay here for a whole day posting. Most people here have full-time offline jobs and mylot is only an alternative for them to relax after work. No one is thinking seriously about the earnings here.

yes, but there is still that possibility that is why i asked. Maybe if i have a time by myself one of these days. I will try staying for 8 hours and just continue answering and thinking of discussions to post.

I don't think any one can depend on Mylot rewards for living. Even if you work for 10 hours a day it is not possible to make money for your living. You can make a few bucks for your pocket expenses.

I don't personally think that it is possible to replace a full time income from working outside the house by working on mylot. That really isn't even the reason that I am here. Instead, I am here because I like the interaction that I am able t have with other people during the time that I am here and the other reason that I am here is because of the fact that I do like the little bit of extra money that I am able to make while here.

Well, I can't make my living just by staying here for 8 hours, because while responding to discussions and starting discussion requires lot of thinking and when mylotting lot of time goes to thinking. Thinking makes qulity response, and here at mylot quality counts not words. So I don't think that someone can make his living with myLot. As one of the member said it is good for your Internet bill, but sometimes with myLot its also hard to get amount which can pay your Internet bills.

yes i do agree. But i think that can be compensated with after being getting used to. I mean, just write what's on your mind and whatever comes down to the screen. react to whatever was posted here and there. Like just right now, i just noticed that the replies of the people who replied (hope you got that) are already being shown in the screen. For example, This is my discussion and there is a person who responded to my post, then another member commented on his post. Then just before this, i responded to that comment and saw that their posts are already being shown on the screen as compared to before where only the first response is shown. Anyways, what i am trying to say is that reading responses are easier now. So, answering them would be easier.
