Hi!
I think sleeping is the best method to relax. That does not mean oversleeping. 6-8 hours should be enough, but an undisrupted sleep is important. The brain "runs" 1,5-hour programs while you sleep. 4-6 programs should run during the night for a good relaxation.
My experience is that oversleeping makes more tired and also takes too much of the day. A day you spend with useful activities makes you happier.
It is also important when you sleep. I've heard in my childhood that you should sleep at least an hour before midnight. Unfortunately I cannot do it many times, but I do feel much better the day after. Now I learned that the best sleep is between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. So when people had no TV they could sleep much better :-)

As a doctor once told me, sleeping and resting are two different things. If you go to sleep with a lot on your mind, upset, angry or stressed, chances are, your mind is not resting and relaxing as it needs to.
In your case, you say that this is fairly recent. Are you going through something in your daily life that effects how well you sleep? Are you eating right and drinking enough water? I know it sounds silly, but your diet can effect the way you sleep, thus the way your body relaxes and rejuvinates.
For me, I do not sleep well unless I read before I go to sleep. The few minutes that I read, I am relaxing my mind and body and getting my mind off of all of my daily things. If I am reading, I am not thinking about what I did that day or what I didn't do, or what I need to do the next day. I am not thinking about anything except the book in my hand. Nine time out of ten, I end up falling asleep with my book in my hand!
I think that if you can find a way to relax your mind, your bosdy will follow suit as you sleep and you will wake up feeling more rested.

Yes, sleep is the most effective way to relax. When I am tired, I always prefer to sleep but I never prefer a long sleep. And for good sleep it is necessary to have some worked out, some extra activities which led to a sleep i.e. sound sleep. Yes it also helps us in regaining energy, as energy is regain we feel fresh and our day become good.

Hi, If you are extremely tired, sometimes you find it difficult to sleep and get normal sleep. But sleep is the best and the most effective way of relaxing your system.I dont think that any other activity can take the place of sleep. because sleep is complete relaxation of every part of your body and it is also part of a rejuvenating process for our system..all the best and have a great day

As far as I am concerned, I thinkI do not think that sleep can be the most effective way to relax in our life. For me, I think there are a varity of ways to relax and enjoy our life so much.I think you can watch some Tv or sing a song to relax . They all work so well in my life. For sleep, I usually regard it as a waste of time.

I think sleep is one of the most effective way to relax. One can do the things he/she likes to relax too because it diverts our minds. One can take cool bath or dip his feet in the tub of chilled water. One can just close his/her eyes and take mental rest.

for me a good way to relax is listen to your favorite music or music that make you feel calm and peace, and also clearing my mind, having a pick nick in a park that way I feel relax , it doesn't mean if you want to relax is just sleep or sit back on a chair drink your favorite juice and watch t.v, no relaxing is a way for our body to feel at ease

Sleeping is the best way to relax and it doesn't cause you money. Although there are other ways to relax such as meditating. I find meditating relaxing especially during times that I'm really tired but can't sleep. Massage is also a good way to relax but it will cause you to spend money except if you know someone who can give you a massage for free.

Most of the time, sleeping does help a lot in energizing us once and for all. But I think what makes us really regain it is if you sleep with a clear mind and comfortable with your sleeping. In my case I could not sleep well because the weather at this point in time is just too hot and sleeping is not that comfortable so I feel deprived right now that when I wake up in the morning I would not feel okay at all. There are times that when I have this problem sleeping is disturb that is why when you wake up in the morning I would feel less energetic the next morning.

Oversleeping could make you feel tired and feel even more sleepy. The best way is to sleep 6-8 hours only not more than that. In my case, I only need 5-6 hours of sleep or else I would feel nostalgic. Then you need to have an exercise. Exercising regularly could help me feel energetic and awake. However, not too much again which would make you feel very tired. If I can't go jogging I just dance at home even for 20 minutes only. Try it and I'm sure you'll feel more energetic.

sunshineyunlong,
Sleep is indeed the most effective way to let the body receive complete rest as it is at its most relaxing stage.
Coming from where you said that you are still tired after a night's slumber, and if this has been happening lately and frequently, then you may want to pay your doctor a visit to check for some medical conditions like diabetes.
You may disclose what is happening in detail so that the doctor can conduct the relevant test to diagnose you. I suggest that you do not hesitate or delay as early detection could bring about complete recovery faster.
So, take care and have a nice day.
P.S.
You may also check your symptoms on this link to see if there is any out of the ordinary conditions befalling on you.

yes it is the most effective way to relax.. because when you wake up it is like shutting down your pc for a nite and turning it on next day.. same with our mind.. the processor heat up and slows down.. and then we have to shut it down.. to refresh it..

Sometimes i feel more tired after sleep than before. I think it caused by too much sleep. Don't you know that when we sleep we convert the energy to grow up, to regenerate our cell and other. Too much sleep also not good for us, better enough sleep than too much sleep. You can do some body massage to make you feel relax or you can burn some therapy candle or drink green tea that can make you feel more fresh with many antioxidants.

I think sleep is the best way to regain you stamina. activities needs energy so you'll never regain any stamina. And about you I don't know how could you say that you're still tired after all night's sleep?. When I felt tired when I did a homework, I will slept for about 1 - 2 hours and then I continued my homework. That's my opinion...
