Since I was young till now, I have this weird dream of flying. In my dream, I fly by flapping my arms (no wings), then I have to flap fast if not I will fall or fly low. The scary part is that, at first of flying, it fine, then when people see that I am flying, they would pull me down (pull my feet), so I have to flap my arms very fast to fly high. Then after sometime, the people become monsters and they were trying very hard to pull me down, so I couldn't stop flapping my arms even though I am very tired. What do you think of this? I always have this same dream, like once a week since I was a kid till now.

I've never had a long-term recurring dream like you have. I've had some dreams that repeat themselves later in the week and later in the night. I've had a dream once that continued itself the very next night. I've also had dreams that have repeated themselves (the plots) over and over again within a single night.
I'm a person who's really interesting in dreams, but I don't believe dreams have universal symbolic meanings. You know how some dream interpretation books and things like that will say dreaming of this mean precisely this or that. I think that's hogwash. People are different and there are LOADS of people in the world. So I believe that dreams are different too. Most dreams are completely meaningless. But dreams are a window into your own mind and what you're going through personally.
You might try experimenting with lucid dreaming and maybe asking those monsters why they're bothering you while you're trying to fly.

It has been a while since I have had flying dreams, but there are two differences with mine. 1) It starts out as a nightmare, but then I become lucid, having conscious knowledge that I am dreaming. Therefore I get the opinion that I don't have to put up with whatever my mind is having me experience, and 2) I don't need to flap my arms, I just raise my arms up and go Superman style.
Unfortunately many times my dream manager just backs up the tape and plays the part before I got lucid. After several tries, I finally give up and let it play the way it wants to play, only by then it is no surprise.
I now wonder if that's the reason I'm a bit weird.
One repeating dream I had when I was younger was waking up, but I'm not awake. I cannot move and I feel an evil presence. I try moving, but it is futile. I have this premonition that I'm about to be attacked, but there is absolutely nothing else in the room. I just lie there motionless, scared out of my wits.
If I dreamed what you are dreaming, I would try to find something that I am trying to accomplish but someone or some group is discouraging you, keeping you from reaching whatever destination you are attempting to get to.

I've had a couple, one when I was a kid another from when I was a teenager I dream them from time to time and I always recognize them too. Kinda creepy how dreams are supposed to be so random, then how does one get to see the same dream more than once?

yup. i often dream about vampires chasing me, they're flying, i'm flying too. i read on the internet that flying is some sort of trying to escape something, and vampires are symbols of people , things, or situations trying to drain the life out of me. so if you put it together, my dreams translate to me trying to escape from all the negativities in life. deep, eh?
cheers and happy myLotting!

rhinarea (50), I had the same dream like you. I was flying and I felt so gooood, but unfortunately I have never dreamed this twice. I wish I could, but I don't believe It will happen again. Dreams are very complicated sometimes and I believe that they have own philosophy.

i think i've replied to a similar topic before and i wrote down what my dream was about hehehe better not do that now although yes, i can tell you that i too had a recurring dream. that was once. after that, i've had many weird, pleasant, sad, amazing dreams but none were recurrent.
and my dream had to do with aliens. -_-" it's said that recurring dreams tend to stop when you are able to figure out and do what you are meant to understand from that dream or if this is not the case, then it stops when that dream actually does happen in reality which is highly doubtful.
in my case, my recurring dream happened for a few years i think or was it months, i can't remember exactly. but it started when i was a child of(i think) and it got me really scared with the aliens in it. but then one day it just stopped. before it stopped, i had the same dream? but there was something different about this. it felt real, and i even ran crying(well not really crying) to my dad after it happened immediately. i remember peeking to see if the spaceship was still there but it wasn't obviously. after this incident, the dream was no more. it stopped although my fear of that dream lasted for a few nights still as i was afraid it might happen again. i had to touch my sister when sleeping, i was that afraid.
what i still wonder to this day is, did i do something that my dream was tellin me to do??? and if i did, i wonder what it was because i can't remember at all. i was only 6 after all. or did it really happen as i thought it did then? but then...aliens? spaceships??? kinda hard to believe too.
but yes, this dream, i definitely won't forget. i wonder how long you've had your dream for? it really does sound scary especially when they turn into monsters and try to pull you down. might be telling you that you might have some hard obstacles in life hehehe that's a simple and easy version of my own:P

Maybe subconsciously you wanted to fly. Not literally fly as a person. Maybe you wanted to get on a plane and experience flying. Sometimes dreams are like that. They tell you what you want in life but you don't know cuz you're constantly bombarded by current events like work, family, friends, etc..

Hi! Yes I do, I have this dream where I was in a high place like on top of the building or a tree then I would fall from it. As I reach down the ground, I would eventually get slower and reach the ground unhurt. I have been dreaming that ever since I was a kid. It's been quite a while since that dream last occured because I prayed for it to stop. God listened to me I guess.

i have recurrent dreams, too. flying, yes (and falling once i realize that i'm flying), being in a murky body of water (and something in the water's out to get me), losing my shoes, or realizing that i left home without them, mysterious sightings in the night sky - like exploding stars or planets or space rockets, and the debris would fall on our house!), snakes, snakes, snakes (*Shiver!*) i've been dreaming of these since i was a kid, too!

I never had any recurring dreams but sometimes I would dream about going to dome other place and I would pass by an empty lot with a tree in the middle then after a few weeks I would dream about hanging out with friends and I would pass by that same tree again. That tree is like a landmark in dreamland for me. It's also very common for me to feel or smell a scent in my dreams.
