I am a director of a college and I found one student that gave a thesis that was a copy of an other one that he found on the net.
What should I do? Should I through him away from the college or it is too severe punishment?

That's cheating and worse its thesis. You can either just fail him in that subject or give the most severe punishment, expel him. But I suggest you just fail him. Give him another chance and see if he'll change.

You should fail that paper.
If it was a term paper or a final thesis, then whatever that student would have gained from writing that thesis should be negated. If it was an interim paper, then perhaps you can give the student another chance to write a paper that demonstrates appreciation of the topic, knowledge of the syllabus and original thought in evaluation.
Plagiarism (whether it's for a student paper or for monetary gain) is a criminal offence. Your student should be made aware of that. Many colleges will dismiss a student on a first offence (because it was surely made clear to them at the start what the parameters for original work were) but some will allow a second chance (if the student was otherwise a good student).
Whether you dismiss him summarily must depend on the Terms and Conditions of your college and what your students signed to and agreed.

Hi there! I'm an administrator and counselor of a small-time elementary school. But I have handled difficult college students, too, in my years of counseling. What I'd do is confront the stude about it (with hard evidence)and then give him a chance--maybe 2 or 3 chances more. And then that's it.

Hi,
It will be surely a very severe punishment. It is my thought only.Actually you should try to make him understand and warn him not to repeat the thing. Now a days many students follow the same theory. They do not want to prepare any thing but want to copy it.

I think plagiarism is a crime.... but we I like it or not every student done that.... give the student a chance, then if caught for a second time then do otherwise....

I think the student deserves another chance. Tell them that copying like this is cheating and is NOT allowed and if they do it again, then they will have to leave college. Good Luck!

No, you don't kick him out of school According to syllabus I get every quarter, a student who is caught plagiarizing is first reported to the den and then he is given an F in the course. But under severe circumstances, the student can be thrown out of college. But I feel it is a bit too harsh to throw someone out of college due to copying.
You can fail him in the course so he learns the consequence of copying someone else's work. But ruin his life. Getting thrown out of college can affect him in a negative way.

To me if he is guilty and if this is his first, a warning would do and ask him to redo.

What he did is wrong. I admit it. But are you sure all the other students are submitting the thesis by their own effect. certainly not 75% of them are copying or taking help from others. Moreover his future is not determined by the subject of the thesis. Or he is going to excel in his job with the thesis. Somehow he wanted to pass. So he copied. His talent is something else.
But as a director of the college after finding the corruption if you leave him it not good. so better call him and warn him and ask him to submit another thesis. That will be better.
