Mostly they goes under warranty sooner or later. Even if we are experts, we cant stop it. My laptop has been gone under repair for 3 times. First for DVD drive, then Battery problem, and then with the front speakers. But luckily dell gives good response to the service and i have been satisfied by them by their quick service. What about you ??

Hi, I repair and troubleshoot my own PC. I also repair small problems in my friends' PCs. They seldom appreciate that though. But I just love doing that. I don't own any business, I just be wherever and whenever I am needed. I was not like this before. When I bought my first PC, I mostly played games in it. That PC got busted. Then I bought a new motherboard and started learning about hardware. I really don't remember how many times I had to change CD ROM and DVD ROM drive, but I had to buy HDD two times. First one was ATA and this one I am using now is SATA. I had to change my motherboard 3 times. This one I have now supports AMD sempron processor and supports upto 4Gb RAM. Its kinda cool. The only things that served me well was my monitor, mouse and sound box. I haven't yet changed them. Thanks God bless you

That's great getbiswa. I like your passion. I too learnt something about hardware, and software, and keep helping my friends. Though I have not been to your level of changing mother boards and so on. It does give good feeling when you can do things on your own.

I think it's good that you can work on your own computer. That way, you don't have to pay anybody to fix it. I wish I knew how to work on my own computer. It's too bad that your friends don't appreciate you working on their computers. They could at least sya "thank you".

I bought my second laptop last years and hopefully no problem yet, mine is a dell and I like it because Dell is very good, I remember once when returning home from the office, it was raining heavily and unfortunately my laptop got drench , I came home and remove it from the bag, what I saw was unbelievable, there was lots of water inside my laptop, I was very afraid, but then when I got it dried It was back to normal again. Thanks I did not had to bring it to the agency to repair it for me.

I use a simpler HCL laptop with intel dual core processor. I was also not happy with the DVD drive. When I took it for a look-in within warranty they only installed another driver set, and it worked for a while. Once again I am continuing to have the same problem. It does not read/write. The warranty is long since over. I do not think this time they will do anything at all. I may have to shell down huge amount to replace the DVD drive, if at all they can get the right part.

It is really good to hear that Dell gives good customer service. My lap top is long past warranty. When I did need repairs, it was already past warranty. I would like to eventually get a new one, but other things around my house need taken care of first.

Mine has been repaired twice under warranty. It's because a storm blew out my modem because I forgot to unplug my computer. The first time it happened, I didn't know to unplug my computer. The first computer I had was a used one and I never had to unplug it during a storm. I also have a Dell computer and I really do like their prices.

Mine is probably past warranty since it's a little over a year old.
