There is a saying:A beautiful face wins everywhere. Beautiful teeth is important for beautiful face. But teeth may cause health hazard. Scientists said, people who don't brush their teeth twice a day have an increased risk of heart disease. British researchers studied nearly 12,000 adults in Scotland and found those with poor oral hygiene had a 70 percent extra risk of heart disease compared with those who brushed twice a day and who were less likely to have unhealthy gum. People with gum disease are more likely to develop heart disease and diabetes because inflammation in the body, including in the mouths and gums, place a role in the build up of clogged arteries, said Richard Watt from the University College London, who led the study.

First of all teeth brushing is a matter of self respect. I care about how I look in every aspect. It's very interesting the information you give, as I didn't know there is a connection between poor oral hygiene and heart disease. In fact, any chronic inflammation is not good for health. The detail that mouth and gum inflammation have a role in the built of clogged arteries is really alarming. These clogs may cause infarct. So we must take care of our mouth and teeth hygiene. Very useful information, thanks.

I brush my teeth once in a day, in the morning only. Sometimes in the evening but that is rare to happen. Thanks for the nice info.

i never knew about this so thanks for the information. this is also a good reminder to all of us, especially to those very busy people who seem to ignore their health because of work. sometimes, we tend to forget about ourselves when we are too busy. well, i don't think i will be a candidate for a heart problem cause i keep my teeth healthy by brushing at least twice a day.

I rad about this information some time ago, I guess it was another study. Anyway both Hubby and I pay close attention to our upkeep of our teeth. Old bodies need all the help they can get.

Well, this is something that I haven't heard of before. Thanks for informing me. I usually brush two times a day. I can't brush more than that because I already have abrasion, meaning that my teeth are already thin. I think it's because of calcium deficiency. I haven't had it diagnosed yet, but I searched the symptoms on the Internet and I have them all. My bones are also very weak. I know this for a fact because I've had lots of accidents that affected my bones easily. I brush my teeth in the morning and at night, but sometimes when I come home very tired I forget to brush my teeth at night. I know some people who brush their teeth only once a day. I'm going to tell them about this possible heart problem.

Thank you for your reminder, I think that I have a bit of careless with my teeth, sometimes I only brush my teeth once a day because of my night life, I often go to the restaurant having diner with my friends or clients and come back home very late and fell tired with some drunk, so I will pay attention to my health and relate to other problems.
