Only need the intention of reading way. If your intention to finish a book one day then you can finish it in one day. I have finished so many books in one day. Because i couldn't wait for the lasting. And i read the whole book in one sitting.

wow... can you tell me what kind of book you usually read? a novel, comic, reference, textbook, etc. because i think reading a novel is quite different with reading a textbook or reference book. when i read a novel, like you, i can't hardly wait to see the ending. so i can finish this in hours. but when i read a reference book, i have no rush to know the ending. and usually it takes more than a day to finish. the problem is, i like reading reference books better than novel or story books. what do you suggest? i definitely appreciate your response.

No i didn't mean textbook. I meant novel or story book. Yes novel is hard to finish in one day but it's possible. I like both story book or novel. So you can try both.

Hi mamafenny. Like you I also love books, and I do pay attention to every word and every page. I don't feel like I would be able to fully appreciate the book if I just scanned the pages and hoped to pick up the idea of the story. I think you should just continue to read it the way that the author intended :D There's no point in reading more books if you're not reading them fully.

I'm a fast reader. I typically finish 2-3 books in a week. I read fast because I read a lot. I take my current book with me wherever I go and I grab a spare minute reading whenever I can. I take public transportation to get to college, so that gives me more time to work on my books. I'd say practice, take your books with you. Spend less time on the internet and watching TV.

I read a lot of books and through this I am able to read faster today, I can finish a book in only one day if ever the author is one of my favorite I do not have any problem to finish it. So I think reading everyday will help you gain the speed to read faster.

I love reading and I'm a bit of a fast reader. My problem isn't how much time it takes to read a book, it's that I feel I finish them too fast! I don't want good books to end so quickly. But that's just with novels. With my school text books, well they aren't quit as enjoyable to read and I'd love it if I could absorb the info by touching it.

You're never going to read all the books in the world. It's much better to concentrate on enjoying the ones you are reading, so that you get an understanding rather than rushing. And if you aren't enjoying the book, simply stop reading, life's way too short. Personally I find I get through more books faster if I read a few at a time, a few chapters at a time, then rotate, but I only do that once in a while. I guess it helps keep the interest which means you read faster.

that makes sense. guess you're right. I can keep reading till the end of the page when it comes to my interest...think I just have to concentrate on my favorite type of books. thank you...

I have no secret I am just a fast reader, and I take in and remember the details as well. It's not often that I don't finish a book within a day.
