I'm very interested in people who have a faith and there are many things that go through my head regarding religion. One of the things i think about is do you need god to be happy?Or do you ever think what you would be like if you didn't have your faith? What sort of person would you be?

You're right, you can find happiness in life without having need of God in your life. Many people enjoy financial wealth, a loving family, and few problems in life. However, no matter how much happiness you have right now, your life would be more fulfilling with God in it. Knowing God makes a HUGE difference. God made you to have friendship and to be useful to Him. What if you took all the time, effort, and expense to invent or make something that would be useful to you and then it turned out to always be a hindrance and no good to you? What would you do about it?

I do NOT think that one NEEDS any god to be happy....happiness comes from WITHIN NOT WITHOUT...I dont believe in god (any god) and my life is full of happiness..As for what would I be like without my spiritual path? Well I'd still be me but not as calm and I dont think I would be AS understanding and mindful..I still would be, just not as much as I am now

True joy and happiness comes from knowing the Lord Jesus Christ. No matter what your circumstances are, you can still have awesome joy with the Lord!
Jesus Christ is the only way to find the kind of peace and joy we all seek. This world can never give it.
May God bless!

I shudder to think what kind of person I'd be if I had not accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

One can be happy without God. But one is happier with God. One is the happiest that knows the true God.
I've experienced all three situations.

What a shame, blummus! No, you are not happier. You don't have the strength to provide for yourself on your own. All good things are from God and Him alone. He loves you and you need Him.
You need His love and His forgiveness. He is very real and I know that I depend on Him for every breath and heartbeat!
He is so awesome!
I pray you will come to know the Lord Jesus Christ!

Assuming there is a God, Springlady, whose shame is it if one is looking for help and guidance and they hear nothing but silence and must struggle with life's difficulties alone? Is it the fault of the one who sought and could not find, or the fault of the one sought, who cannot or will not be found?
Love is a matter of two-way communication between those loving, not one person wishing and hoping there is someone else in an empty room in the middle of the night.

Hi joniebee,
Yes! I most definitely need God! Every single person needs God. Many, mostly out of pride, won't admit that they need Him. Without the Lord, there is absolutely NO hope at all! Our nation and world desperately needs the Lord Jesus Christ! He is the true answer!
I pray many will come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior!
God bless!

Hi joniebee, We are here to do what needs to be done in the here and now. God is one with all things and the important thing to know is that we are all one. I really don't care for religion because it teaches division and not unity. We don't have to worry about God, see what needs to be done and do it. God is not separate from us but one with us so in truth we cannot be without God. Blessings.

To me God is more than an imaginary model of excellence and perfection, which has no equal. I want to have Him as an ideal in front of me, so I may become like him. I want to acquire His qualities and His virtues. I know that in this physical body, I cannot be omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient like Him; but if I try, I can have in me some of His excellent qualities, such as I can be kind, loving, sympathetic, patient and tolerant like Him.
Since I do not know the complete essential features of God, I do not know how to adore and worship him; my religion guides me in doing so. Therefore, I need God and religion to remain righteous, to follow God's commandments, and to live according to my given nature.
With God and faith, God's nature would be a part of my conduct. Without it, I will only learn to pretend and show myself to be a morally good person. However, in reality I would be evil at heart. There will be nothing to guide me. I will reveal my true nature whenever I will not be able to control myself.

Yes, i need God all the time. Needing comes with relationship, if you dont know the person and you dont even have a relationship with him then you wont feel the need of him. You cant need a person you do not know.
If I didn't have faith in God,I will remain the same, the same person I was before I met and knew God. A person without life, joy and peace. For the the joy and peace that God gives is not like the joy that the world gives, but this type of joy and peace penetrates to our soul and spirit. It is very difficult to understand once you haven't experienced it. I hope you would.
