I am English, fully born and bred here. And I must say I am impressed with alot of the english I read on here, when I see that someone is from Greece or Pakistan or somewhere like that, I am shocked at how good their english is!
I think though what people need to rememebr is that when English speaking people criticise the broken English is nothing to do with grammatical errors (so putting you're instead of your or Id instead of I'd) or even spelling errors- everyone makes spelling mistakes! But what is very very difficult to read is when someone is writing is extremely broken english making the discussion just impossible to read; for example...
"how work my vacuumer is hard do and never went to shop to buy was given friend."
It does make reading and rating the discussions impossible because you dont know what you're been asked and so it makes it hard to respond to the discussions.
BUT more annoyig than that, is the people (and not just non-english speakign) people who write stupid discussion points and literally write 15 within 10 minutes- obvously they are not bothered about responses. And as I said, this is most certainly not only non english speakign people!
I am glad MyLot has helped with your English, and as I say I am shocked at how good your english is!!! I wouldn't know to read your discussiosn that you were anything but fluent in English...if not English...in fact many have better English than my own discussions!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I am English but I have not lived in UK for 35 years and therefore I don't speak or hear English on a regular basis now. Over the years new words have been added and I am unaware of their meaning, even though I am English.
There are many times on here when I am reading a discussion and come across a word that I don't recognise and I have to make a search to disover the meaning. This may seem impossible but it is so easy to explain. When I left UK all those years ago there were no computers therefore none of the words which we use every day when talking about computers were around then either. I have had to learn them all.
Only the other day I had to learn what a 'mullet' is. There were no haircuts lke that thirty years ago either
MyLot is a mine of information indeed and helps everyone, even the English speakers!

To be honest, I was attracted by money at first, then I found it hard for me to hold on because of my poor English. I now want to improve my English first. I believe that I will be able to read and speak English fluently one day, then I would be like to make a lot of friends here and discuss various topics. Mylotters are very kind and they helped me a lot in understing some English grammer and confusing sentences. I like here.

I joined myLot four months ago, and my English has improved : I am probably still making many grammatical errors, but I am more assured. I like the rule in the guidelines saying that you must not "Post discussions, responses or comments criticizing members for bad/broken English or bad spelling. Everyone is welcome at myLot (...)". I will have probably leave myLot without this statement. myLot is a great community.

That is sooo true. I am learning a lot of things from myLot, not just English. I am learning about earning online, about computers and software, electronics stuff, etc. to name a few.
@mysD, You just added 'mullet' to my vocabulary. Just reading it, I thought it must be some type of tool. You know...sort of a mallet, type thing.
