Noynoy said that he would not be comfortable in Malacanang and he wants to live near the people that he will serve. As for me, it will not give us peace if he won't isolate himself from the rest of us. Security will be a problem. I think he will also cause traffic around our area which is a big trouble for most of us in Quezon City. I hope that he will think it long before he finalize the decision to continue living in Times St..

I think in many respects, it is unFilipino to not live in Malacanang. Imagine President Obama saying "I want to live in Chicago and fly to the White House" or "I want to live on the Blair House across the street, but not the White House because Bush lived there".
There ought to be this standard. And the standard ought to be upheld. Respect the way of the government. He thinks he's being humble by doing this; but frankly, it's snobbish and insulting. Just live there, for crying out loud. It is offered by the government. Taxpayers are paying for that building anyways. Show the people, show the world, that the President respects the traditions of the country

I think one reason why noynoy don't want to live in malacanang is perhaps he does not want to be reminded when he was wounded when their was a coup attempt in malacanang during the term of her late mother. But I hope he will be able to ignore what happened and focus on what he can do as an elected president of the philippines.

His decision is his decision. But, what he is saying is childish. What wrong would it be to live in the Palace where the ex presidents who where corrupt lived? Another thing, a lot of presidents lived Palaces where ex rulers who were corrupt also lived? Why can't OUR SO called new president live there as well? Malacanang is the house of the president he must respect that. But, hey who can blame a person who seats in congress and still lives in his mom's home.

Noynoy should live in malacanang, the official residence of the President. He is so immature not to live in malacanang because the arroyos and marcoses once lived there. I agreed what mimiang said, security will be a problem if he prefers to live in Quezon City.

I guess the people around Noynoy will advise him to live in Malacanang as that is the official residence of the President.
Times St. maybe good and comfortable for Noynoy but it would be better if he will stay in Malacanang.

Hello mimiang,
He's from the chinese member of the family, what would you expect, he'd rather believe in fengshi experts rather than the will of god and his faith to the lord. it won't make difference in his life because it would depend on his performance and not some superstition crap. that's the problem now with him, no one can predicts what he wants, and the people are nervous

I agree that he should live in Malacanang. The government has to spend more for his accomodation and security. That will cost a lot on the tax payers' money. If he is pro poor then he should think about this. That's unnecessary cost. The cost to hire additional personnel, additional security force , etc. One way to be close to the people is to get cabinet members who are close to the people and not close to him. Get a group of screening committee to find qualified persons to be cabinet members.
