I Found My Long Lost Friend Through MyLot

We were five when we first met and six when we parted ways. We were classmates in preschool. We ate our snacks together during recess. I'd borrow her crayons when there are colors missing from my box. I remember feeling very sad because she went to another school. I never saw her again after that.
Then, a year ago, I started a discussion that didn't get any response. I was hoping against hope that someone here at MyLot knew her. Months had passed and still, there was no response to this particular discussion.
Then, one day, somebody posted a comment in my blog's shout box. It was my long-lost best friend! She said she found my MyLot post through Google when she was trying to find out if she had passed the medical board exams. She is now a doctor, by the way. The MyLot discussion that I posted appeared at the top of the results when she Googled her name(I'm not mentioning her name in this discussion at her request). Twenty-seven years had passed since the last time we saw or heard from each other. It was a miracle!
We have gotten in touch with each other through email. I'm happy that I've found her again. Thanks to MyLot!
Do you have any joyous experience courtesy of MyLot? Or do you have a similar experience of finding a long-lost friend?

Hi, blindmoongoddess. That is fantastic!!! So fantastic!!! I know that you and her are so happy that you two have met back up with each other. This has got to be wonderful for you both!!!! I have a couple of best friends that I have not seen and talked to in a long time. I have one of the girl's mom phone number. I am hoping that me and her can get in touch one day so that we can see each other. We were best friends in preschool and kindergarten. Or it could have been first and second grade.. I still remember her voice. I miss her so much!! I hope that you and your friend enjoy your reunion together!!! Have fun!! I know that you two have so much to talk about and a lot of catching up to do!!

Wow that's a great story Blindmoongoddess! I haven't find a friend on Mylot, but mostly on Facebook. And last week, me and my high school classmates, had a reunion after 15 years. And we had a blast. And it is so amazing how the internet opened great opportunities to reconnect with long lost friends. I am happy for you. (^^,)

I have to say that is a really nice story... Nothing like that has happened to me here like that, but saying that in the short time that I have been a member here, I have made some really good friends, and it just proves to me, how much this site is just as good (if not better) than the other social networking sites like facebook, myspace, bebo etc
Really happy for you!

It's really hard to find people who gather wild foods. But I've found a few people where. On top of that, it is really hard to find friends who can respond to some of my other off beat topics or my every day happenings. But I have have found a few tried and true, wonderful friends here. When you're a person who doesn't have much in common with many people. Mylot is wonderful!

I found several people from my school on myspace without really trying. It amazes me to see where they have been. And, to see where they are now. A majority of people I know has moved. including myself. And, facebook has even more people. Half of my friends attended my school.

Hello! that's a very interesting story because of the very long years that you haven't got any communication at all and then suddenly you found your long lost best friend again because of myLot. Nice! good to know that, i am just glad for hearing your discussion. Reuniting with somebody special, was always a very interesting story for it was hard to be apart with anyone, more so when you didn't knew where are the whereabouts of this person and you're totally clueless on what happened to him/her after a long year of separation. That makes your story special, and im happy for you and your best friend. Good luck!

Sorry to dissapoint but I'm new to myLot and haven't had that experience yet. I only have one soul (sister) friend and I'm still in contact with her. But I found her through an email list.
Thing was I was going to this new school. I had to rent an apartment to share with in this new different place I was living. I contacted the apartment manager about whether if I can get a roommate. He said yes and offered me other students going to the same school as me.
Being shy and not outgoing, I had to get the courage to email them. All 50 of them. So I wait and the next morning, I get a response from this girl. She was nice in her email but unfortunately she only wanted to make friends before school started and had no interest in being roommates.
It turns out that the girl she was going to room with wanted to move back to her family and was willing to give her spot to me. Immediately I demanded this girl to kick her out. And so the rest was history.
We think back at that moment and laugh at it of how lucky we were to find each other via the internet. Even though we came from different countries (her from London), we had so much in common. It's been 5 years since and we're still going strong despite her returning to London. Its probably the best any friend can get.
