A friend of mine bought a desktop recently, and it was out after roughly 6 months usage. He was outrageous about it. I guess when he bought it, it only has 30 days warranty, and he didn't buy any insurance with it. And the price for that PC was really cheap too, but he never expect it to be out soon. I had a dell computer, a desktop for more than 2 years already. I expected it to run for another 2 or 3 more years. When I bought it, it was about $500 come with a monitor and a printer. So, 2 years period of time, it already worth the cost. I hope that it will last a bit longer, or I might consider to replace a new one in the near future.

My father bought a computer in 1998. It get slow internet connection in2008, that's why I sold it cheaply.
I think this computer lasts more than 10 years.

My PC has only the same video card and CPU, when I bought It before 4 years and half. Firstly, my HDD broke after over 1 year. Then I tried to add extraRAM module maybe after 3 years, but both modules were incompatible and I left the new more powerful module and sold the old one. Maybe an ear ago, my motherboard just faked up and I had to change It with a new one. Now before couple of months my DVD writer broke. Totally changed PC afte 4+ years almost 24 hours per day working

I can't exactly determine the lifetime of my PC because after my pc reaches for about 3 months I change and upgrade some of the hardware so maybe after a year my PC is almost new.
good day

I bought a desktop and it lasted about a year and a half but thats because I used it loads. I would expect a brand new computer to last a good 3 or 4 years before it broke down. Dell are usually very reliable, my desktop which broke down was HP, so I don't think you'll have many problems with the dell. And dell are good with replacements

Last year i bought HP laptop. It was not so expensive as it was old model. Till that time i face only one problem that is laptop battery. Now i run my laptop though dc power. Otherwise it's perfectly ok and easy to use.
I hope i can use it more 3 years. This is my expectation from my PC.

I have a suggestion for you. If you have enough money, try to buy the latest customizable pc. Even it takes 2 years after you buy it, you can upgrade this computer. Do not buy second hand. It easily became phased out after 2 years. Try to buy with a latest processor, ram and hard disk.

All electronics can be faulty and are hard to produce and get shipped without breaking. It is just one of those things about electronics, you never know for certain how long it will last or stand up. A pc's lifespan can be determined by many factors: usage, temperature, how it was shipped, how it was made. But this computer that i am on right now is 10 years old, and it hasn't missed a beat for being put together by myself.
To ensure the longevity of your computer; turn it off at night and make sure that the temperature inside the case doesn't get too hot.
