When i was younger a tat would cost you half the price of what my daughter has just paid and even back then they changed the needles all the time so that can not be the reason for such a sharp increase in the price for a mini tattoo.I was even thinking of having one done with all the childrens names on until she told me how much hers was.

Same here my friend, in 1956 i was a guy of 11, i used to purchase meat and fish for 2.5 INR for a kilogram, but now it is 200+, very difficult to adjust our budgets, but we have to live...

As a Chinese,i have to agree that we have the same situation, maybe it is a global trend :p You know,in my own country amd city, food especially meat has a sharp increase some time ago,now the same situation comes again on vegetables and fruits ,cause we need these food everyday ,so we realize the increase of these price more clearly, but the horrible thing is that the salary of many people can't develope with the increase. Many of us feel a bit worried about it.

It's been eleven years since the last time that I had a tattoo done and at that time I thought the price was pretty reasonable. However, I do realize that the costs of everything that we do in our lives has gone up and for that reason, I completely believe that the cost of getting a tattoo with all of your children's names on them would be more than you would want to invest I also would like to get a tattoo of my babies, but right now cost is an inhibiting factor for me as well.

Yes every things price is going high and high. All product. But i don't know the reason. Before the price of rice or vegetable was less but now it's high. Though people's salary is not high but cost is high.

It really depends on where you go. Different artists charge different prices. What may take one artist 2 hours another one maybe able to do it in one hour. The prices do vary. I think you should shop around and you maybe suurprised what you come up with. I only go to atlantic city to get my tatts and they were almost $150-$200 cheaper not to mention the detail was beautiful. If I would have went around where I lived at they would have charged me over $350 for the same tatt. Happy Lotting

YEah, indeed!! Everything has been increasing in prices, and even those basics has increased too!! I think over here, getting a really small tattoo costs about at least 30USD.. hehe
And that is for plain design, just words.. lol =D BUt than again, very few parlon are willing to do those designs are the tattoo artist often like to showcase their creativity and skill, thus making one pay more than what we wanted.. hehe

Hi Jugsand jugs, Tattoos are indeed very expensive, usually the minimum charge for any even if one letterwill be £15butthis is beacause of health and hygiene reasons, they need new needle for each and ink etc and the insurances if anything goes wrong and it all gets added into the price. I a waiting on a quote for my daughters tattoo at present, we have £60 put aside so far but I think it will cost a lot more because of all the detail involved. Huggles. Ellie :D

it's life and the government all wonder why we want pay rises etc. i found it depends on who u go to, on how much a tat could cost. the first one i had done is on the wrist so a hard place, but it's small compared to the one i got on my shoulder. wrist cost $200 and my shoulder cost $400. both done by different people, that have been doing it for different amounts of time. makes a difference as well. better paying that bit extra at times.

More people are getting laid off and I would think everything would go down in price. Instead everything is going up. I am on disability and in Jan. I get a letter saying if there will be an increase and how much. This year it stayed the same, because the letter said there was no cost of living increase. I don't know where the people that wrote the letter are from, but there was an increase for me!

Well, if you figure it costs more for products now. Costs more to ship said product to its destination. And people have to pay their overhead which is all more too. It just costed too much money to live now days. Back when I was a kid things costs afew cents and now it is like 10x what it was then.

The days we passed earlier were the happiest days which our children cannot enjoy any more. Those were the most peaceful and beneficial days in the history.
Goneeeeeeeeee are they now.
Yes everything is going up in price - some for a reason and many for no reason. All this is because many people are earning in more than two days.
When we enjoyed life - only one person was earning and at-least 4 members would enjoy . But now, changed.
The prices are going sky-high

I know, it's getting ridiculous... no wonder we all struggle these days... food is getting more and more expensive, even the salad type food, so I have this year tried to save myself some money, by growing my own stuff. If I had a bigger garden I would probably grow all my own veg and stuff like that, but I am limited, so I have pots and stuff, with a few things growing.
I also wanted a tattoo with my kids names on it... not even something big, but it was still going to cost me almost £100... which I thought was disgusting, I will still get it done, but I am currently saving...

I got my tattoos thru a friend of a friend. I checked out his work and like it and since I knew his friend, I got a big discount. It was a big help in getting my larger tattoo.
Everything is expensive... Drives me nuts...
I was traveling with my boyfriend yesterday and went to some fancy part of a city with nice shops and found out that it costs you to use the bathrooms there. You have to buy something in order to get a token to get into the bathroom. Why is it costing me so much to do something I could do on the side of the road for free? ;p

Having tattoo looks very cool, rather say I would go for small tattoo. But I never tried one, I am afraid of the needles. Also, I find it awkward to have tatto on my body. But I have nothing against anyone who prefer to have tattoo. For me, having six children and a lot expenses for them, I certainly would not include having tattoo on my budget lists. Thanks
