P...ed off bigtime with all the whingeing over trivial matters when good men are being lost in Afghanistan and I have had enough, 4 GOOD men have sacrificed their lives this week from one troop alone. I state again bring our boys home. Thoughts and prayers go out yet again to another Royal Marine Commando from 40 troop. I will actually be deleting people now from my friends list who only bother to answer to easy discussions or only do their own poor f;;;g me scenario - totally had it up to here grrrr. Do you get fed up sometimes being the only one that seems to care about more important issues than if a boyfriend has texted or not? Just letting off but come on people real world or virtual world? these things matter surely?

I'm sorry, but since our boys are dying over there too, its a little hard to get worked up about any of them.
They CHOSE to go into this knowing they could die.
They know their people are doing their best to keep them alive while the enemy is trying to kill them.
Honestly, if they weren't over there trying to keep them from killing them, then those same enemies would be over here trying to kill us.
I thank GOD that SOMEONE is willing to risk their lives to save ours.

Hi ElicBxn, Thank you for responding as know a very difficult subject, I am just hurting right now but if you ask any one of them including the guys whose lives have just been lost they will say the same as you but I just really feel for all their friends and family right now as the enemy they are fighting are hidden and plant devices instead of being up front and battling as a real war should be. I just want peace in the world but seems sometines that is just too much to ask. Huggles Ellie :D

sorry but A HUGE BIG NO....
THEY OUR SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN DO NOT CHOOSE TO ENTER INTO THESE CONFLICTS..
THEY ARE SENT
WITHOUT REASON WITHOUT ASKING THEY ARE SENT BY THE GOVERNMENTS., AND THIS KIND OF COMMENT I FEEL IS UNREALISTIC OF THE WHOLE AND COMPLETE PROBLEM.
ITS NOT ABOUT " GETTING WORKED UP" ITS ABOUT RECOGNISING THE WRONGS., ABOUT RESPECT., ABOUT SAYING AND DOING SOMETHING THAT HONOURS THE FALLEN.. NOT WELL THEY CHOOSE... NO THEY DO NOT CHOOSE EVER..
THEY JOINED THE MILITARY SERVICE TO OFFER DEFENCE FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE FREEDOM., THEY CHOOSE TO WEAR A UNIFORM TO DEFEND PEOPLES RIGHTS TO DISMISS THEM OUT OF HAND
AND LIKE MOST CONFLICTS.. RATHER THEM THAN ME AND THEY CHOOSE SO SHOULDNT COMPLAIN WHEN INJURED ETC....
ACTUALLY "THEY" DONT.... MOST JUST GET ON AND SHUT UP AND CARRY THE GRUESOME SIGHTS THEY HAVE WITNESSED THE LOSSES THEY FEEL AND THE POINTLESSNESS OF THE SCRIFICE FIRST HAND.
"THEY" CARRY ALL OF THIS FOR THOSE WHO BACK OFF AND GET OUT OF FACING WHAT OTHERS DO FOR THEM
NO GREATER SACRIFICE IS GIVEN THAN THOSE WHO GIVE THEIR LIVES FREELY FOR OTHERS
THAT IS A CHOICE OF WEARING UNIFORM., THAT IS THE HONOUR THEY CARRY, DIE WITH LIVE WITH WOUNDED BY., FORMER AND CURRENT WARRIORS., SO THAT WE CAN... "NOT GET WORKED UP ABOUT IT"

You are right of course ellie. I get tired of some of the things that are posted here. But then again, I come in when my health permits me to. I post as I'm able to.
I am upset over all of the wars and fighting. I have stressed so many times and in no uncertain words that our troops must come home!
Having these kids, young people, men, and women dying for a cause that not many even understand and when there is not much that can be done when some people in some countries feel it is their duty to fight no matter what.
I am so tired of the deaths and the guys and girls coming home with their minds messed up. What for? The people in other countries that feel they have to fight us and what for...many times they are so messed up on the issues that they don't even know themselves.

ellie, I always pray for all of the guys and girls out on the lines and in the wars. I also send them cards and boxes of things they need too. I hate that they are there and some have not got anyone to send them things and they don't get mail or letters from anyone.
They are fighting and must keep their spirits up until they get to come home.
We have troops many of them in Iraq and Afghanastan. I wish they could all come home and not have to fight any more.

Don't think a lot of people are concerned about the real world, it is easier to stay in the virtual world where there are no real problems. I am sorry about the loss of lives in Afghanistan, but they joined knowing that they would fight for their country and I beleive they are defending you and my rights, if no one fights these people over there to break up the groups that want to destroy the people in other parts of the world, then sooner or later you will be fighting them on your own soil. Whe you join the service you join to fight an protect. There are always loss of lives, whether it be your military or ours (USA) I lost many friends when Viet Nam was going on, but I understood that it was their choice to serve their country. Be proud of what they are doing for you. And I know what you mean by fed up with discussions about texting and my boyfriend didn't call last night. I have a friend that if you mention something on the news that has happen, she has no idea, she does not watch the news and does not want to hear it, too much for her to handle, like voting she isn't interested but when she compained I toldher why complain you didn't think enough to go voice your opinion. But she can tell you all about the internet and Facebook, I want to know what is going on in our world and how it affects me, and yes like you I have deleted many that only respond or post cr*ap about boyfriends or text messages, or things that really don't matter in the real world.

Hi Bdugas, I remember you being affected by the floods and being away from your husband so long because of it as he went back to help family if I recall correctly, long time again now, that is a situation that nobody could forsee the same as these guys when they sign up, they never imagine that onbe day they are actually going to die. The reality though is that many do unfortunately. I agree it is easier tolive in a virtual world and I guess the Lot can be seen as a placce to get away from the day to day stuff but some of it really does border on silly. I watch the news although these days is is full of doom and gloom because I want to know what is happening sothat I can take action if needed. It is a bit like the people that don't vote then moan about who gets in eh! Hugles. Ellie :D

Hi Budgus, Yes it is a shame that to further education they have to enlist. I will pray for protection for her for you. This is the re4ason why so many lads join over here in the UK cos it gives them better education and qualifications and I don't think any of them really believein their hearts it will happen to them bless. Sometimes sorrow runs out of words, Ellie. I've read your discussions and haven't responded because I can't express anything helpful. The war has gone on too long. Too many lives have been lost. What does it take to bring all the terrorists down? How can all the terrorists be discovered and be brought to justice -- a swift punishment.
*Sigh*

Life and freedom is what matters Ellie and the circumstances in which we are asked to surrender our own lives has to be for a cause that it worthy of the sacrifice. I am of the view that the British armed forces are the best in the World. Unfortunately, the Government that sent them was amongst the worst that we have ever had. We are fighting America's war and losing! All service personnel, of whatever nation, go willingly as part of their "contract" to defend their country's interests. However, we must balance this with the fact that we are free to receive those texts from loved ones precisely because there are men and women prepared to defend our right to maintain the lifestyle that we have. So let those trivial conversations continue, but let's just remember that they are sometimes at the cost of real people dying in a place that few care about and fewer still would go voluntarily.

Hi P1kef1sh, Yes I agree the British Armed Forces are the best in the world and yes the government that sent them was the worst, they stopped recruiting the IED specialists and didn't provide as they should of to protect our boys the best they can be protected with the right equipment etc. I am ok with trivia really as I posted an umbrella discussion earlier but for some reason after the shootings in Cumbria yesterday and then this news so shortly after the two Steves and Scott I was really irritated in case you hadn't noticed but only because close to my heart I guess. God bless them all. Huggles. Ellie :D

agreement all round with you p1kef1sh.
politically and socially..
just only get involved with ghusto, when our service men and women waved aside an given an off hand brush off., with the old infuriating statement they choose to join.. well duh!!!
defending the rights of others and their freedoms to be as suprficial as they want to be is what it all about.. BUT SOMETIMES proper and repectful rememberence of those sacrifices wouldnt go amiss., with the timing of the recent casualties in this conflict in a strange land.,( as you say most people couldnt find on a map or would even wish too)
To prevent that conflict spreading to our own streets., where then those who still bury their heads right now would have a serious wake up call.., and would soon be getting all worked up over NOT seeing our brave ones in uniform...
just hits the wrong spot with me.
also the presumption that service personnel have all the right equipment and people working to look after them... is not a real truth., even the popular press are reporting the lack., so you really have to be "in another world" not to realise the overwhelming odds and difficulties placed on far to few., for the greater majority., so a little respect and concern isnt asking a lot.
freedom costs..
always has , always will..,
but then you said it much better and perfectly.... excellent xx

Hi Wendie, Yes heart, thoughts and prayers also goes out to all have been been touched by losing someone. You hit on something here, the loved one must BELIEVE they are going to be coming home but with so many loses from just one troop the ones that haven't had that knock on the door must be extra nervous right now and more concerned than usual which can affect that belief in their heart too. Heres to a safe return for the rest of the troop and all others were are serving out there right now. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi Sweet Ellie,
I really do agree with you. When I find myself being overwhelmed by these seemingly thoughtless people I too want to scream and cry. Do these petty people really have any clue to what is going on in this world? Not only are we losing really good men and women dying for our Countries but our economy is falling apart at the seams and people are becoming more greedy and corrupt and totally self centered. I want to run out side and scream, open your eyes people and take responsibility for your actions or non-actions.
But I refuse to give up. I believe strongly that this will all turn around and I just pray it will be soon. Take care sweetie.
Hugsssss
Leenie

Sometimes people have their own problems and does not know how to respond to other people problem, especially when the problem does not happened in their countries. And most people here are young people, who know best how to enjoy life. Sometimes I feel like you, wanted them to post more qualified discussion, but then I thought who will entertain me?^^
I have a friend who is a United Nation soldier and I did not hear from him after he was sent for the second time to Afghanistan. He lives in New York before. I still have his picture (bloodied after the bombing into the United Nation quarter several years ago). I still pray for him and I wish we can meet again someday. And I wish of all there will no longer be any war.
If I am an American, then I would join any actions there which can bring the boys home.

Things happen and there will always be people who do not care about what is going on in the world.
