why do computer virus exist.. can anyone create it?

Computer Viruses are made so that people can make money through antiviruses. So I think the people who have discovered antiviruses are also the ones who created the viruses.

haha yes, how they started? the story is simple. knowing the definition of virus is a subroutine that make something unexpected in a computer. So as there is no perfect program there is always the possibility to do an action that might corrupt the program. a virus basically take those weakness and "explode" them. the people who program viruses now do that with the idea of not only annoy but to take advantage of the weakness that can allows them to get to the information of other computer. remember the information now is almost the most important now. the main problem that is with the viruses is that the software developers keeps the copy right of their programs so only them can make changes. of course they arent perfect and there is always someone who will see a flaw in a program that is managed for few programers like windows os. this also shows why linux or other free OS doesnt have viruses because for been open program everyone contribute to the development of this programs and is more difficult to find flaws or when they find them as been an open source program the "finder" patch the program and get credit for that :-)

There are computer viruses because there are always people in the world who want to hurt others, no matter what the costs, or who want something that isn't theirs. There really is no other reason for them. They are the blood-sucking vampires of the computer world - not romantic - just ugly and selfish.

well, some viruses are created just for fun, fun as in... fun to have others bangin their heads on their keyboards and some are created to steal data. either ways atleast it is providing jobs to some programmers who make antivirus :D but according to me 60% of data is to annoy people. lol there are some .. safe viruses which dont harm you pc but just annoy you like hell lol i can create a virus that can be pretty annoying but not harmful hehe

Virus was created to use Antivirus. And if we use anti virus then people can earn money. And virus was created by people.

I always think the computer virus is likely to be crated by companies rather than individuals. After all, not many people have such skills to create good computer virus and all need the time. Who will be so boring to do this non-profitable things? Perhaps it may be fun, but the cost is large. Whereas the companies will have profit if they create the various computer virus. So their anti-software can sell well. I love China

i personally feel that viruses are made by those who makes the anti-virus..it's a marketing style for them i think..i also think that they are the one spreading it..so that more people will purchase their anti-virus programs..

Most of them are probably made just to be a pain in the behind. I'm not sure if just anyone can create a virus. I know I can't except maybe by accident. As far as who created it well that depends on the kind of computers. The first virus was made sometime back in the 70s and for personal computers I think was in the 80s.

why do yout think theres anti virus of course to fight those viruses. so who will buy their anti virus if theres no virus at all whoever that person behind those viruses, then theres only one answer, they got something from it and those company who offer anti virus will also get something from it as we pay for our computer protection.

I dont know who created it at first and when. Virus stands for vital information resource under siege. Most threat of virus is on windows cuz windows has the abitlity to execute .exe file. Most iruses are in the form of .exe Some viruses harm your system by overloading process or just crashing the system. Its better to protect yourselves from virus by installing a good antivirus software..It is most recomended.

Well Virus was made by some Hackers in order for them to go to you computer and search for identity and more things in your computers. Only Microsoft software such as Windows are really have a problem to it but those Linux and free Operating system they cannot do it. Because Microsft is a Giant company with enormous money in their vault. Where those free OS well no competition with Microsoft so no one is tempted to try virus on this free stuff.

Well I think to make a computer virus some one has to be some kind of computer programer.I mean some one that can make programs and they make them to make money by making programs that steal info that they can use to make money or get a credit card in your name.

Virus are simple program (lines of instructions), which are harmful for the system. Some people like to do so, to damage others systems.

Anyone can create a computer virus yes. It is computer programming creating a program which when run messes up someones computer. It is legal to create a virus and keep it on your own computer, but as soon as you send it to anyone you are breaking the law and can face a stretch in jail if you are caught.
