i have quite a stack of gadgets and things back home in my country. till now, i still haven't dispatched all of it. when i last took my vacation, i was forced to throw away some of 'em coz they've already stained and it wasn't working anymore. now that i am outside my country, i'm again beginning to keep a lot of things in my cabinet. i feel like my room is getting crowded of some stuff. most people happen to be very sentimental with things they get. do you think it's better to give things away if you don't need it anymore. or at the moment, you still don't need it. well, almost all the time i would tell myself, there will come a time that i may need this in the future. quite a misery waiting for that time though. now i think i have to live quite a simpler life. seeing less around me. so i can breath.

Hi Chiumee,
It depends as to what kind of stuff i am having. If I have some good sentiments attached to the thing, I might even not sell or give to someone. Or, I might try to give it to a close friend, or a relative, provided that they take it, and do not refuse. Other stuff, I would most probably give in charity, unless it is of a good re-sale value.
Regards

It depends. If it still has monetary value then I'll try to sell it. If I can't sell it but still working like in gadgets then I'll give it away. If no one is buying my stuffs then I'll also give it.

I have a bad hait of hanging on to things that I don't really want or need. My late husband used to jokingly call me a packrat. I just couldn't throw anything away. When my accumulation seems too great, i throw everything into a yard sale. Part of me wants to get rid of so many things. Another part of me wants to hang on.

Hello!
Yes I always sell my old stuff at a reasonable price. I mean why do I keep those things hich I no longer unusable. The toys I donate to kids who do not have toys, or who do not have parents who can buy toys. To teens I sell my old comics magazines, baseball cards. I have the oldness star autographs, posters. I give to free my clothes which I no longer fit. I am happy for I have things that are useful to other people. I have old Hockey Equipment which I gave to my neighbor kid. He was very happy for that.

Yes I actually recently gave away loads of stuff, that has been cluttering up the place. I have to say it actually made me feel quite good about it once I had done it. My problem is that I am a bit of a horder and I just hate to let things go, until I just have to because of the amount of clutter I seem to have. And a good thing is, that at the same time I am actually helping others, in getting what they have been looking for, or by giving away clothes as well.

i'm not a very sentimental person but there are things that i can't help but keep..however, if anything is still usable, i would either give it away or sell it. it depends. if it's still saleable or still has market value then by all means i will sell it. if i think that someone in the family, or any of my friends or other church members would find them usable then i will give them away.

Yes, I sell and give away my stuff. Instead of throwing away stuff to clean my house. room and closet I think I would rather give or sell them. In a way I can help other people by giving and earn some money if I sell my stuff.
I am actually donating my stuff to my church because we are going to have a fund raising.

it's really amazing how much stuff one can accumulate in a short span of time. and most of the time it's stuff that we can do without. when i get into a cleaning mood, i try to dispose of things. i usually just give them away.

No, i wouldn't sell it even though i haven't used them for a long time because it certainly have a sentimental value. My mother would always ask me to throw away some of my things which i don't use anymore but i will always have to tell her that i can't manage to sell it or give it to somebody.
but maybe some of the things which are really not that important then i might consider to give it to someone who might see its importance.

Hi! If you haven't been using items for a year, you should sell them. That way, you can earn a little and you will be free of clutter. Hope this helps. ;)

I have a regular monthly clean out of my house and go through all my books I have read, clothes that don't fit me anymore and gadgets and items that I no longer want as material things can always be bought again if you need them.
I like to have a clear out as it clears my mind and I helps to start again.
I like to earn a little extra cash with my clutter by selling it here in the Uk at bootsales and online auction sites.

When I was younger I kept everything including the things that I wasn't going to use anymore, and my mother used to tease me about it. She said that I was just like my great-grandfather who couldn't throw anything away. As an adult I have become the opposite kind of person and I only want to keep the things that are really important to me and the things that I know that I am going to use again. I have given away lots of books, clothes and other things. I usually ask my family or my friends if they want some of the things and the rest of the things I donate to charity.

Yes, I will. There is no point keeping old stuff that is of no use. Sometimes we feel attached to few things which we had from long back but need to be practical amd seel them. Get new things from tha money. If there is something that you love very much even if it is of no use, Keep it.

I also have so many things in my house these days. I cant wear some of my clothes anymore because I am bigger now. My mom gives away some of my stuff but she consults me first before giving away cause I have clothes that fits my sister. If they fit my sister then I sell them to her. lol

It depends upon the situation. Considering the economic crisis here in my country, I would rather sell my unused stuff if I have any than just give it away. Because they bought it from me, wherein they invested money in it, they are going to give importance to it other than just receiving it as a form of donation or give-away. However, there are also people who would rather give importance to things that are just given than bought. If I have other option, I will not sell nor give away my stuff, I will rather try to have a stockroom where I could put it and go back to it at times I need it already.

I sell a lot of things on ebay. Recently I have been going through my house trying to uncluttered. I am selling everything that I don't use. Ebay usually works good for me.
