It is a very common notion that once a student fail because of teacher factor. Sometimes, the faults of the students will be thrown back to the teachers. If the teacher gives unsatisfactory grade to his student, he will be labeled as does not know how to teach. The sad thing, sometimes our supervisors would reprimand us not to fail that student because his parents are pitiful. The issue is not on the parent right but on the future of the student?. If we let a student to pass because we took pity to the parents, how can we help the student to be competent to their employment world? do we really do not have the right to fail students? Teachers out there, will u please help me to be out from this dilemma?

A holistic education allows a student to be tested in many different skills by many teachers. A good student deserves to be passed. Not because of his parents or his family background. And certainly not because of his looks or whether he is liked. The opposite should also be true. Failing a good student who deserves to be passed is deceitful and may destroy his future. On the other hand, passing a student who does no deserve to be passed would just give him more opportunities to slack and eventually make him incompetent in his working world.

Definitely, if you think that the students don't deserve it. Then do the necessary thing to give a failure grades.

Ofcourse teachers have the right to fail students if they did not reach the passing grade. It's not the teachers fault if the student will repeat another year because of his/her own failure.

the teachers have the right to fail undeserving students.. hey, if we deprive our teachers such right, then where is quality education? after all, the efforts of teachers will be useless since they'll be raising up idiots in the process if they dont have the right to fail delinquent students.. the new trend of education is student-centered but it doesn't mean that teachers dont have the right to fail students. especially those who are not doing what they ought to do as students.

for me teachers has the right to fail the students depends on his/her attitudes and academics performances.the parents should also be fair and must follow the rule of the school. every grading period, parents should guide their children and motivate them. on the other hand the teacher should take into consideration to the students weaknesses.

Part of the job of a teacher to determined the assessment of his/her students.Yes! the teachers has the capability to failed the students specially when the students are not listening and not doing good inside the class but before the teacher do it the student performance are evaluated by the higher officials and that was the time if will put judgment.

first of all, it is the last call of the parent on whether or not the student will move on. i believe if you pass a child that has failed, it will bring a lot of problems. my son just failed 5th grade and we decided that he needs to be held back. it won't do any good for anybody for him to move on without learning the things he needed to learn....even if its just responsibility to do what they are supposed to do.
