What about a gift card to Walmart or Target? You could also do a gift basket full of personal care items, or maybe a movie basket. Does she knit or crochet? You could give her a gift card to her favorite hobby store to buy new yarn.

Well the gift that you mention is not suitable for her. And she doesn't knit.
Is there any other gifts. She is very simple person no hobby no fashion.

You better ask herself and she won't be disappointed seeing your surprise gift.I would like you to try to spend more time with her when you go back.Share your experiences and give ear to her and listen a lot.Old people requires attention from others and that will be the best gift,I think.

If it was me. I would like to buy health food or massage facilities to them. But these are not the best gift, the elders most need is understanding and care.so Younger generation should spend more time with seniors and talk with them heart to heart.

I think whatever she likes you can buy for her. The best gift you can give to an older person is your time. Yes you can go out and buy them something, but most of the time it isn't something they want. Gift giving can be unique, which is a great way to express what that person means to you. Show them your appreciation with a gift they'll really enjoy. Elders are very smart people having lived much much longer then yourselves and they are filled with knowledge and wisdom. They could have their very own TV show just talking about their adventures in their life.

Photo collections would be great for elderly people since it's a good way for them to recollect old thoughts and memories. A subscription to a magazine or newsletter that they like would be good, too.

Hi dreamsharmin, if you really don't know what to give to your loved ones, why not you ask them before to get the gift for them. I always ask my loved ones what they wish to have for their gifts. This is the best way to buy the desirable gift for our loved ones. Of course, we should consider first how much we could afford to buy. Just like my niece and nephew wanted to buy gift for their parents, my elder brother and sister in law to celebrate mother's and father's day. They asked the elderly to buy stuff with the amount of money they are happy to pay for. They bought a massage chair finally and enjoy using it with great pleasure
In our family we do the same thing we always get the right gift for the right person. We don't feel embarrassed and ask before getting the gift if we really don't know what our loved ones wish to have If you really feel indecent to ask her, try to recall from your remembrance the time you were together with her. I hope you would find out what she keens to have...
Have a nice day
