I see that there is more planning for further exploration of the planet Mars.
Now there are six volunteers to be locked up for nearly 18 months to see how a future mission to Mars could cope psychologically.
Do you think that it is worth spending these massive amounts on space exploration or could the money be used in a better way?

yes that is crucial mission, maybe someday the earth will retire or worst scenario is when planet nibiru x will collide to earth and nobody live humans or living things in the earth . . the brilliant ideas is seek for a new home for future the solution is mars . . . ^_^

Hmmm... NASA is hiding lots of things from the public. I bet there WAS life on mars long before. Just take those footage of ice caps and mossy regions on Mars that NASA hid from us. I think the utilization of money should be equalized, for Earth and for scientific purposes. Both are beneficial so I think its not bad to spend massive amounts of money for planetary exploration/expedition but just not too massive.

I think we need to figure out another plan in case we mess Earth up with pollution, war, etc. Exploring/visiting Mars could get us one step closer to colonizing other planets. Life on Mars would help because then we know life can exist there and we can terraform Mars someday.

most probably if there will living thing on mars, its just bacterias and microbes!!
because mars are full of carbon content having less or no oxygen and water on
there..but hey what do you think,if we put lots of trees on mars, let tree exposed
to sunlight and let it produce more oxygen?? just be sure those tree can live
without water..LOL

It is good to see that our World is progressing and trying to go to Mars or other planets. A day might come when we would like to go beyond our galaxy.
God has only given this earth, oceans, mountains, forests etc to us. However, we demarcated the world in political boundaries and by doing that we limited ourselves to our Country only.
It is sad to see that we are spending billions of dollars to explore other planets but we do not spend a few dollars to give bread to poor people.
We bring luxarious items to our house only when we are sure that we have extra budget. When we had not been able to give smiles on faces of millions of people, we have no right to such advancement of science and research.
Please do not think that I am a pessimistic or revolting. I feel very sad to see famine grieven Countries and faces of children and women fighting for a single piece of loaf which a stray dog snatches away.
We are becoming brutals and barbarions by taking such exploration and industrialist would come out with new weaplons which could be fired on Earth from the Mars.

Yes. today science is increasing more and more and day by day and with the help of this today we able to find is there any kind of life in mars planet or not so this is very very interesting to see is any kind of life in mars or not if yes then in how many years we go there and purchase their there land and how we can survive as compare to earth.

I don't really see a clear point to this issue? Is there a motive for it? Are they planning to create another world on Mars? I find that pointless. They should spend the money on their health system instead figure out a way to have better coverage for U.S citizens.
Take care

With all the problems we have right here on this planet that could be fixed with money, I think it's a blatant waste of money. Oh, from a scientific standpoint, I can see why they're doing it but how is it going to help us? Are they still trying to determine if we came from another world or prove that all life began the same way? What good will that do? None at all. The scientists will argue that, if we know where we came from, we can determine where we're headed. I really don't care!
I can't help but see how all the money they're spending on space exploration would improve the quality of life right here on Earth if it went to the problems we have right now.

Hiya chem,
Although it´s in potential a very good idea but for the future as at the moment it would be like trying to plug a hole in a rusted bucket. There are so many Homeless People that I think they should sweep their own Doorstep first. Yes it´s good to investigate and all that but I think that they should wait and see for a while ride the tide and wait till the big waves stop hitting us all so much.

Hiya...
I must admit as much as it would be interesting to find out all about mars, I can't help but think that with the state of our world at the moment, with recessions and other problems that there are, I feel that the money could be spent rectifying problems, if the money was not needed then yes, maybe it would be something quite important to do, but at the moment I do not think that it is a priority.

i'm sure that there will be quite a number of beneficial returns that we can get out of the Mars missions and other space explorations. with the amount of damage that we're doing to our own planet, it's almost a necessity to seek out other places where humans could possibly colonize and live in.. and Mars being our closets neighbor (after our own moon), it seems like a logical choice to go there

It will surely fail though, why these people tries to defy God? They don't understand that the only and perfect livable planet...

See, we do not know if we there is life in Mars or not. Most probably there won't be any life and even if there is it would be of primitive type. But I am sure that there is life out there in some other planet, maybe in many planets. Some could be so far that we would never reach it. But some could be closer to our earth. To reach these planets we need to know how our bodies would survive in the long space travels and for this, we need to these kind of experiments :)

Hello, oldchem1!
I think it's valuable to explore the space. Space on the earth is lacking now, our power is lacking now, and we can't be sure whether there will be galactic catastrophe happen on the earth. So i think it's necessary to find resources in the space and find a alien planet for immigrant.
