Have you ever experienced one trial learning?

One trial learning is a special kind of learning. It happens when you are ill. You eat something and, if you get really sick afterwards, you learn from that one experience to avoid the food. You don't make a conscious decision, you just can't stand the site of the food. The last time it happened to me I'd been out for a meal with friends. I had seafood pasta. I was very ill. I don't go near seafood any more as I just don't fancy it at all. Do you have any foods that you avoid at all costs because of this one trial learning?

What you are implying is an allergy. There are foods which some people are allergic to and this allergy sets off a reaction.Like you i'm mildly allergic to shrimp. It gives me irritation and rash.

I used to teach psychology. Believe me there is such a thing as one trial learning. It usually occurs when you have food poisoning. Maybe food allergies can cause it too, but that is not what I'm talking about here.

Yes,i had experience like this. I can still remember the chocolate biscuits that i ate a lot since it is new in the market and tastes good. Then,i got ill and vomited. Until this day,i always get rid off of that biscuit. I felt sick when someone serve that choco biscuit remembering how i got ill. That really gives me a great lesson to learn.

Yes, I had this kind of experience several times. Some of them I managed to get over eventually, but there are a few that I doubt that I will ever get over. The biggest one for me is Pot-pie. I used to watch my sister's children while she was working, so I was responsible for cooking. Everybody loved my Pot-pies, and they would request them often. This particular time, my sister and her children has just gotten over an awful stomach flu that lasted for almost a week. They were now all able to eat and were craving my Pot-pie, so I made the Pot-pie extra special for them. They loved it and said how delicious it was, and I am pretty sure that I agreed with them at the time. Almost immediately after eating, however, I got violently ill. Honest, it wasn't my cooking! I had finally come down with the stomach flu that everyone else had just gotten over, but now I can't even smell Pot-pie without feeling nauseous.
