Believe your Mom when she says that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. aside from giving energy to start your day, breakfast jump starts your metabolism so that you burn more calories. When you sleep, more metabolism slows down and it doesn't pick up until you eat again. that's why studies shows that those who eat breakfast lose more weight than those who skip meal.
Of course if your high in sugar and fatty foods, that wouldn't good for your body either.
for healthy breakfast choices, choose from some of these:
fresh fruit or small glass of citrus juice,
whole- grain bread,
a bagel, or an English muffin with jam or honey,
Whole grain cereal with low fat or fat free,
Oatmeal with skim milk topped with fruit,
An omelet made with egg whties or egg substitute,
Multi-grain pancakes,
Fat free yogurt.

Hi! This morning I had oatmeal with milk and sugar, and coffee. I cannot go to work without having coffee in the morning. There are times when I had to skip breakfast but I try my best to eat breakfast everyday.

thats great!.. breakfast will help you to gain more energy and knowledge to work properly specially in some full time jobs.. there are times that if you are staving you cant think anything just food that you want to eat and can't concentrate on what your doing..

Hi kourdapya: I have to admit that I have sometimes decided not to take breakfast to lose weight and I didn't know that was negative for my health. That's a bad decition then, thought. In my case I'm also addicted to coffee and I used to drink at least a cup of coffee a day. Then I replace it with ice tea that I think it's more healthy. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

I have always considered breakfast as the most important meal of the day. I make sure that I eat or drink only fresh or newly-cooked food. I use to squeeze fresh orange juice daily but I stopped when I realized that it was giving me acid reflux. I also stopped drinking coffee and turned to milk tea. I usually make a egg white omelet with vegetables with pandesal. Then I eat fruit for dessert.

for today I had bread,egg,and hot choco for breakfast.I eat my breakfast regularly.I cannot go on the day without breakfast.I can have milk for breakfast.I can have fried rice and egg for breakfast.I can have pancakes for breakfast.

Hi Lanz negosyante: Thanks for the4 information. I didn't know that breakfast was important for our metabolism or that we lose weight if we take our breakfast. Actually I thought it was the oposite. In my case, today my breakfast was Corn Flakes and milk. It's simple but I was not really hungry at 8:00 am and I think I'll eat some pasta for my lunch. Yummy. Thanks for starting this discussion. I had no breakfast today... But I had a brunch! Oh it was so tasty. I had bacon, toast, coffee, eggs... and more! I felt so happy and full after that meal! It feels great to share it with the world too!

My breakfast today and usually is dry cereal such as cheerios, granola or raisin bran with fresh fruits or dried fruits mixed together, along with a cup of tea. Once a week I will have a scramble or omlette egg with whole wheat toast or bagel. Now I'm getting hungry.

Breakfasst is important. it is a meal that should not be skipped. It provides the energy we need for the day. I don't always have to have a three course meal to have a good breakfast. i do have to eat something. it might be as simple as juic and toast to pancakes or waffles. Today I splurged a little bit. I had scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and orange juice. Tomorrow could be another breakfast story altogether.

i woke up at lunchtime..straight into a big fat greasy-juicy burger, with all the trimmings that someone made for me that was one heck of a breakfast for me!

I agree that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We need to start our days activity having some energy. As for my breakfast, i ate corned tuna, hotdog, rice and a cup of coffee. I can't perform better if i skip breakfast.

Hmmm... a whole bunch of cabbage and steak! Lots of meat because I'm building my body right now. Work-out every other day at home, eat lots of food rich in fiber, protein and calcium. I avoid fatty foods as much as possible but I can't get rid of carbs and sodium. Too much hotcakes and canned goods. Well my work really needs a lot of thinking so my brain heats up fast so the tendency would be to look for food to supply the loss of fluids and oxygen used by the brain cells. Just by thinking what to say to different discussions here in myLot makes me hungry. Gotta get something to eat now. *munch munch*
