I think I would go overboard with it all, the power going to my head. I would ban left and right, even if someone "looked at my profile funny", hahah.

Oops, hahahah, my mistake. Do moderators delete posts that go against the guidlines? If that is what they do, then I would probably pull posts of left and right, I would be a tyrannical moderator I would! No, I'm just playing games here, I think I would actually be a pretty decent moderator, even though I don't know exactly what they do. :).

First and foremost I would re-do all the guidelines so that they are crystal clear which would make my work easy. I would add quizzes and riddles as I simply enjoy them and would love to watch users going about answering them. I would give more points to those whose English is perfect which will encourage those who are careless to take extra care. After having done all this I will certainly be fair and not get carried away because of the power as I am used to being in a position of power you see!

i would rather not become a moderator.one will get as busy as a bee. but if the price is right then i wouldnt have second thoughts on grabbing that opportunity. i just wonder how many moderators are there here and do they still sleep for mylot has thousands of members to check posts with.

haha true they are busy but I do not think its 24/7. They have given some insight on their job from time to time and it looks like they work during the day and clear mostly what they see from users reporting topics. After that they search a bit in each category is what we are told.

I really do not want to be a moderator of any place. There just seems to be a lot of work to do. Plus, it seems like a thankless job. You do get blamed when a lot of things go wrong a lot of the time. And on a forum this size, I imagine things can go wrong a lot of the time. I think I could be able to deal with that to an extent. However, there is a certain point where things just pile up.
I am also under the belief that becoming a moderator changes people. And not for the better a lot of the time. I know people who were happy and fun to talk to before they were a moderator. Then they come across as a bit cranky on some days on their posts and can get in certain moods. Then again, if I had to deal with some of the things that moderators have to deal with, I might come across as cranky as well.
So, I would not want to be a moderator. Even if the pay is good, I may also hesitate. There are just a lot of drawbacks. If I had to, I would try to be fair but who knows what would happen in that position. As I said, being a moderator is a job that seems to change people. It might be interesting to do for a couple of days but nothing beyond a curiosity.

Well sometimes being a moderator your going to have to do things people dont like but will you do it because of the rules or your own choice is the question.
I know people who are moderators who changed as well I think its just because they get annoyed of real life stuff and some annoying people online.

I don't know what a myLot moderator really. If it is reviewing posts and deleting them, I think I would be quite good. But then, as you have said, I may be carried away by the power. It could be quite difficult not to let your personal dislikes cloud your judgement.
If I were given a chance, I am sure I would be careful to do the fair thing for every one.
Is there a separate moderator? I didn't know there were and getting paid? Well, I would love to have that job.

I would guess so. And if they are paid, do you think there could be negative earning for mistakes made? I mean if someone gets too personal and delete some discussion of a member he/she dislikes? And what about penalty for those? Oh well, we can only speculate, I guess, as I have no idea about it and certainly don't know any one who is a moderator.

well i would like to work as a moderator of mylot. Most often the people at mylot, follow their rules. If they break the rules, then i would take severe action, i would not be fair if they break their rules.
Rules are rules. so we should follow them
happy lotting

it'll be a tough job. but looking at how sometimes discussions become too much fun around here, i might just go out of control and get carried away with power
