which version of windows is best for internet usage??

Iam presently using windows vista. But it is not supporting some of the voip softwares, old dvds etc. Iam pretty ok with windows xp. While I was studying 10 years ago windows 98 seem to be good. Even now many of them are using windows 98. The latest version windows 7 have arrived and the performance i dont know yet.
Iam planning to format my laptop. which windows will be best for me as Iam mainly involved in surfing and downloading

if you have enough hardware, then use windows 7. If you dont, then use windows xp. Vista is not good. I hate vista.

Windows xp is the most best software to go with. the software work with mostly all for internet usage. I strongly suggest not to use windows vista.

windows XP and 7 are good.
Just for browsing and downloading, Windows 7 is good if you have a dual core processor, 2 GB Ram, etc.
if you are going to use some very old software, or your pc config. is low try using windows XP.
that should meet your needds.

windows seven is ok.. but it require a lot of RAM to make that OS run properly
it depends on your hardware specs.
