How do you feel when someone monopolize the TV remote control?

Me and my siblings always argue with the TV remote control, they choose a channel which I don't like. Sometimes I hide the remote control under our pillow, so they won't find it.

i never worry about that! i went to a site online and got a universal remote control. but! it is one key programmable, so all i have to do is hold the mute button and it automatically scans the television. in this way, i can use this remote for practically any tv..even in public places! (thumbs up and smiling at camera) thanks universal one key programmable remote!

of course! but i try not to be bad and confuse someone by changing the channels uninvited. still easily you can find a universal remote online which is nice and compact, and your siblings never have to know! then at most, there will be a battle to which channel to watch.

We have the same problem in our house. We are three of us each one wants to see a differnt channel. It's my mom,me and my sister. It's good that my father is not intrested in watching tv.We used to argue a lot but we came up with a solution.Any one who want's to watch a show on a particular time and particular day they have to reserve the remote the day before so others can go on their work during that time and watch tv when they want.

Sometimes we have the same schedule to watch TV in different channel, all we have to do is stick to the better channel were everyone likes it.

I don't care really. There's nothing really exciting on tv ever. If there is something I want to see, then I'll say lets watch that, but if they don't want to, then its no big deal. I'm sure I can see whatever it is at some other time.

you've got a point there, we can watch tv in some other time and choose what we want. Hoping no one bothers...

This is the problem faced by many families where there is only one TV. All of them wants to watch programs, but if it is of different taste then arises the fight. There is no solution unless someone adjust with the situation and engage in some other works or buy more televisions. Enjoy watching TV

In our home, elder one must adjust the situation because kids really insist in what they want to watch.. Even we have 3 TV sets, they are the King of the remote control.

or just go to plan b and get laptops! and then get internet and wireless router, then everyone can watch television on their laptops and wont need remotes! (applause) i have my laptop set up (19 inch) right next to my television! (29 inch) but i am usually watching shows on computer because i can watch them immediately when i want, but i have to wait for them to come on on the television. also, i can type on laptop as well as watch show in another window so laptop is better i would say)

Same here, if I don't want the channel they're watching, I will just open my laptop and surf some sites to watch or posting comments here in Mylot.

My father usually gains the control of the remote control. My sister usually hates watching his shows, like the food network and the discovery channel. I really don't care either way. I don't usually watch television. I'm usually on myLot instead. LOL

My mom is the one who hold the remote control. And she loves channel surfing. She keep switching channel especially during the commercials and worse, at the climax of any show. It's annoying but it's not like I can tell her to stop like I speak to my younger siblings. Usually I let her be as I focus on my computer. Unless there's something for me to watch, then it's my turn to hold the remote.

It's a good thing that you have a computer, instead of arguing with your siblings, You can watch any movie or show you want through the internet.

We don't argue for the remote control. There's a time set for each of us when we can watch our favorite shows. Its all about talking and agreeing with your siblings. You really don't have to argue. Democracy works in a family.

In my part, we argue with my siblings it is because they are the one who always have the remote control, kids are very persistent.
