Patience is a virtue because it makes us better people. The definition of the word is to tolerate delay. This implies self control and forbearance as opposed to wanting what we want when we want it. How many times have we jumped the gun and found out it would have been better to tolerate delay or had self control? Patience is not only a virtue but a necessity for a happy existence.

I think we all dislike the waiting process, Some of us are a bit more patient than others. i tend to fall in to the more patient category than a lot of people that i know. Patience is indeed a virtue. The more patience we can practice, the more rewarding life can become.

Hi sender: I try my best not to make something wrong when I'm being impatient. I think that when we don't want to wait anymore, we make the wrong decitions, because we simply want to get away from the place we are at the moment. So my patience consist in stay in the place I have to be trying my best to be calmed down and that people don't notice my anxiety. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day. ALVARO

I hate waiting too, but sometimes I have to wait, then no matter I have patience or not, I have to wait. That's the problem. I'm impatient, but others not, so it's no use for me to desire do the thing immediately. Whether you like or not, you MUST have patience.

Your right. Sometimes it's really out of our hands. Like when I fall in line in a grocery store, I kinda like changing lanes whoever is faster but sometimes when it's already my turn, the cashier needs to change paper on her machine. Haha... I still need to wait. Or like when I'm in a food chain like McDonalds and when I see this lane that is always moving forward, I also switched lanes, and when it's almost my turn the person in front of me orders food for 20 people... Sad... I still have to wait. haha... Patience is really a virtue! :)

santosmarichris, There's an old adage that goes like: "All good things come to he that waits" and how rightly so. All those rush just leads us to no where but irrecoverable consequences most of the time. Regretting at the outcome and seeking for an impossible rewind of that eventful moment. “The keys to patience are acceptance and faith. Accept things as they are, and look realistically at the world around you. Have faith in yourself and in the direction you have chosen.” - Ralph Marston.

Hi santos mari chris: I agree with you. Patience is definetly a virtue. And I know this because it's not easy to have patience. When I'm in a situation like this, where I have to wait a lot of time, this really affects me. I hate waiting. I don't discuss or make something crazy when I have to wait for a long time but it really makes me feel bad, and I have to deal with my anxiety. Thanks for asking us this question. Have a nice day. You could say that when I was younger, I was one of the most patient people in the world. Now, as I've gotten older, I've seen things pass me by and I am a little impatient. In spite of my displeasure, I still prefer to be patient because as you say, it is "a virtue."

Patience is a virtue. Though tell me that when I decide I want some chocolate, patience doesnt come in to it then! I think you need patience but at the same time jumping in with both feet can work in your advantage. I believe that some times waiting too long can mean you miss out.

What’s so good about being patient? In stress-management patience can make the difference between an inflammatory response that harms your body and enrages your mind and a relaxation response that stabilizes your glucose levels, blood pressure, digestion, breathing and happiness factor. Patience feels like a deep inhalation of fresh air along with a deep exhalation of staleness. You feel lighter and receptive to changes that unexpectedly come your way, as opposed to rushing around distractedly and upset. Instead of stomping your foot, clenching your fist like a spoiled, demanding child, you glide with an open hand and open heart. Patience means waiting for an expected outcome without the frustration, tension or anxiety.

I do play an online game that requires extreme patience to reached a very high level. It is through this game that I prove about this saying "Patience is a Virtue". The key to success is to wait in another term so I already know how to wait and have patience.

Hi santosmarichris! It's like being in a long dark tunnel, gloomy and mysterious. If I tell myself that there is light at the end, I would have tolerated and continue. If I tell myself otherwise I would be walking back to where I started. Getting back to where I started would not mean much difference except for the time I've wasted getting away and getting back to it again. But to continue would get me to where I wanted to go, at least somewhere I could continue my journey to. Thank you for the post!

may be one or two time i have been do so hurry and get very bad results. That teach me to don't do this again. So to get something good and long lasting we should wait for the batter person or batter time that make us more happy.

yes you are right...patience is a virtue.. Pride make us forget this virtue..our mind always first response is to think like "Who ARE YOU TO do THAT STUPID THING TO ME"..and our body react..and after..become guilty..blame ourselves.."why I have done that?".. if onlyyou! that is what most people told, not if onlyI!... therefore PATIENCE IS BETTER THAN PRIDE..That is what the bible said.. And a person who has confidence of himself and has wisdom..should surely know how to deal with anger..and surely they have 100% control of themselves..
