i stumbled upon this article in the net where a 2-year-old Indonesian boy was puffing nearly 40 cigarettes a day according to the news. as i was reading the story, i can't help but pity the child. i can't blame him for his behavior if not for his father who had him try to puff at the early age of 18 months.
as a parent, i want my children to grow the right way, to act the right way, and to think the right way. i want them to be better person as they grow, and as much as possible i try to keep them away from "bad stuffs" at their early age, but i know in the long run they will learn about them as they grow. i just hope i will be able to answer their queries by then.
i don't want to be judgmental but i can't help myself blame the parents. they are the first persons who should be controlling the behavior of their child, not the child controlling the behavior of his parents. if at first they tried to prevent their child from getting addicted to cigarettes, it will not come this far and really too far since almost the whole world already knew about their child's misfortune.
the Indonesian government should help this family.
they are in my prayers.

parents are the first people in a childs life who need to guide the child and show the correct way to the child and help him in anyway. parents will never want their children getting spoiled as how you think good about your future and childrens the same way even other parents think and want their children to be good enough and sometimes there are more and more expectations from the child but unfortunately sometimes this expectations doesnt meet. yes parents should always takecare that they shouldnt use any bad habbit in front of their children as the child tends to learn very fast and always parents have to keep this in mind and perform things. parents have to try their level best so that the child becomes good and a good person in his life, give them all the education and discipline and this is the parents duty as far, but it also becomes the duty of the child that he respects the parents and learn the good things what parents teach them but sometimes the child dont follow it and at last its a blame on parents. even i am a parent and even i would like that my child should be good and have a good future and we try our best to do it.

hello mama_len.. honestly i hate the boy's parents specially the mother ..why? at that age we parents has the control for all our kids activities unless our children reach their maturity ages we can just be their guidance but still the choices they are doing is their own decision.. back to the 2 years old smoking baby.. i dont know what kind of people are they.. imagine they are proud and happy to tell the whole world what kind of parents are they..

What thats crazy!? I just can't believe it.I jsut don't understand why the father would even want to have the poor kid smoke? What is the point there?
I am totally in 100% agreement with you. Obviously the two year old is not going to the store and purchasing the smokes himself!
