I'm currently using a free anti-virus software.
I plan to purchase a good one coz I think my ant-virus
is not good enough to clean all the viruses.
I'm visiting so many site because of my PTC and
I'm also downloading so many files.
What cheap but good anti-virus can you recommend to me?

your decision is safe because the usage of free anti-virus is risky. free anti-virus will monitor less virus than premium suite. i prefer avira premium security suite. it is better and top rated one.

I use Mcafee and I have found it be pretty good.
I also earlier used Norton but it was quite slow and not quite up to my liking.

I think kaspersky anti virus would be better because it is working fine and it is cheaper than others.

Well, I am using Rising now, a Chinese production. I don't know whether there're viruses in my computer now, but it can keep my computer working well for about 2 years, and I usually rebuild my operating system every 1.5 - 2 years, or the rubbish produced by OS will slow my computer down. So I think my anti-virus is enough to use.

I am using McAfee for couple of year and it has been real good.. if you buy full version including online security.. your much safer since it scans all the website before you access and also blocks all the unwanted programs which access your system with out your knowledge..
Good luck for your new anti-virus software and Happy Surfing !!

Since you're purchasing one, i would recommend Eset Smart Security. It is the best internet security that i've tried. I tried the free trial and its just awesome. It picked up the viruses and rrojans that i had on my computer and its good on system performance. It doesn't hog down your computer. Avira Antivir free personal is also good but you have to use a firewall along with it, PC Tools Firewall Plus is a good one use.

Hmmm... I use Kaspersky (Internet Security, which includes antivirus). I love this company and they make one of the world's best selling and most effective programs.
You can get Kaspersky a lot cheaper than what they are actually selling it at. Get a key for 1 or 3 computers for around 50 to 60 bucks at Best Buy, Circuit City, Office Max, Sam's Club (prob. not Walmart though). Good for a year or for however long you purchase it.
But you should also educate yourself on harmful sites on the net and how to surf the net safely. No point in getting an antivirus if you are gonna jack your computer up in a short time.
Hope you find a good one out there if not my recommendation. Goodluck. Peace
