Missing my younger years, and school life

As much as I really wanted to grow up, when I was younger, and hated the thought of going to school to learn something that really didn't interest me at all, I really wish sometimes that I could just go back to those good old days, as I like to think of them now, because really every minute was enjoyable, there was no worrying about the everyday stuff that we all worry about now, we had more of a social life, we seemed to be free, and we did not ever experience the hurt that we perhaps suffer now. I always try and tell my son the same thing, when he comes home from school and says he hates it, and he wishes he never had to go sometimes... I tell him to enjoy his time now, because when he leaves school, and has to support himself in this big world, he will wish that he was back at school, but he just thinks I am mad! But sometimes I sit here and think, yeah I really do miss those days, and sometimes I wish I could go back to them.
How about you do you miss your younger years sometimes?

I think every adult who has responsibilities feels like this from time ot time. I know I certainly do. I miss just being me, being with friends, not worrying about mortgages, money, bills and all the other things that come along with growing up.
We lived next door to an old war veteran when I was a kid and he always used to tell me that school days were the best days, and me being a child reffused to agree with him. So now I would like to declare to the world that he was right.lol.

It's kind of sad that we don't believe "Schooldays are the best days of your life" until we are all grown up!!

Hi dear,
Those days will never come back.
Those days were the days of freedom and happiness (while comparing with the time now). Even though we were reluctant to go to school, while thinking of those golden days, still now feel much relaxed. At my free times, I used to smile like that of some piece of remembrances.
We all wish to go back to our school days. Now it is 25 years, I left the school and the village, but whenever I go there in my old village, I used to go to the same place where the school was (now it has totally changed and various colleges were established) at the location. But, in my memory that is a different story and some sweet hidden treasures could be unearthed from my mind.
Regards,
Thank-s

I think it is normal. It happens to us all. If I could be selective, I might want to go back. It is good advice you give your son. I am sure my mom gave me similar advice. I know I didn't follow it. Don't be too disappointed when your son doesn't either. Alas, that too is normal. I would just try and be happy today. Tomorrow gets here too fast.

Just like you I miss my childhood a lot. I am so happy and contented with my life as of now specially that I have a very sweet and adorable 8 month old son. However, looking back to the good old days makes me miss the things I used to do as a child when I don't have to worry anything just waking up early to go to school, reading my lessons and doing assignments. I also miss the friends that I have. I get to spend a lot of time way back then compared to now of course.

Hey!
Yes for me it is the same thing now in school years I do not like go to school, because I need wake up earley and the all subjects in school, stress for grades and other kids probems. But, I think all feel this. When we grow up we again want be kids and do the kids things, because working on job is very hard. I too want faster grow up get my 18 years, but it very normal I think. If parents pay for all our things, clothes etc. We do not know how hard is earn money, but when we work and earn money we feel so good and we do not buy things what is not so important to us.

school starts for the kids in a week and old as i am, i'm envious of all their new school stuff. i love the smell of new books and sharpened pencils. i miss being young quite often because there are just too many demands in the life of an adult. being carefree has a lot of consequences because so many things seem to be urgent and important and if you allow yourself to get swayed by whims, you know you'll have more responsibilities in your in-tray when you get back.

I also miss my younger years. As a grown up I do have work to attend to and responsibilities to hanle. When I was young everything was a play for me. The world was my play gound. Given a chance I would like to be a kid again for a day. I would like to enjoy licking a candy cone all day long without having to worry that my skirt would get stained and my hair would be dirty and all. I miss the innocence and the care free thinking I had when I was a kid.

I always treasure and look back on my high school years. It was some of my funnest I would say. I had no responsibilities. I was more active and in school activities. I sometimes wish i could just do it all over again. Your right though it takes a step into the real world to realize what you are losing when you grow up. When I was younger before my high school years I really don't treasure them because of alot of past memories that hunt me. But i can always say my high school years were my best.

Well this year is my last year in high school and I'm already missing it. Somehow high school made me the way I am. I've met alot of people and learn alot of things that I hope I will find useful later. I'm also missing the years when I as in elementary school ... I had no problems and I had alot of free time to play.

I also miss my school days a lot especially my friends at that time, it was all fun, and studies at the same time, I still keep in touch with some who are still here and with others who are on Facebook or through email. Maybe one day we can arrange a meeting and this was what my friend even told me so I think it is a good idea to do so.

Yes!! Things were so easy then! No money worries, no bills, few responsibilities - oh life was a dream! I was young, fit, slim, healthy - life was great. Of course at the time, I thought it was hard - making my pocket money stretch out, falling out with friends, boyfriend troubles, homework, etc. - but in hindsight, they were all so trivial compared to adult life.

I too miss my childhood years, wherein I would only think of school, study, do homework play and eat.. Specially when I'm depressed and faced with a lot of problems..And if I could get back to childhood days/years I would love to.

My youth yes, school NO! All my life I have maitained the worst day of my life was starting school and the best day was leaving it for good. Not tha I had anunhappy time at school just I didn't like it and couldn't wait to reach 16 and be free. That was when I can say my life really started... the parties, the fun, the friends, the social networking, money in the bank. Yes 17 - 25 were good years for me!
