I have a windows 7 os in my computer and i am not able to open any pdf files it says error opening the file and also i am not able to open any shock wave files ..
any suggestions might be helpful.

Try some free pdf reading softwares.. no need to reinstall or format for this reason alone(hope no other issues are there with the problem) . Free pdf : http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/ this is just one . try others also..

the error is for not properly installed the software or is not supported in windows 7.so keep the latest one to get ridoff this problem.

To open pdf file you should use pdf reader software like adobe reader. If you are using old version of pdf reader that does not supportto Windows 7 os. I think you should upgrade your pdf reader. this will resolve your problem

just uninstall and reinstall again. if it still doesnt work, then you need to download the latest version so that it works with windows 7. even then if it doesnt work then maybe those files you are trying to open are corrupt.
