Which is more popular?

Between cricket and football, the answer is definitely "it depends". If you ask me why, it literally depends on the country, there are some countries who actually loves cricket or perhaps football. Basketball, soccer and tennis are the games that i really love the most... If you ask me why, i just don't know how to explain but these games rock!

I think it is football, everyone in the entire world understand football completely whereas there are still many people who do not know much about the game called cricket. Football joins everyone, to a child aged three till the man to his tomb.

Hi dreamsharmin frankly i love both the games and therefore it is very difficult to choose one.However friend you must not forget that there are only a handful of countries that plays cricket whereas football is a much more global sport.There are more than 200 countries that plays football as against the 10-12 test playing nations.So I think that football is way ahead of cricket in terms of popularity and reach.

I love both cricket and Football . I have my favorites in both , but when it comes to popularity ,Viewership , playing countries , followers Football wins Hands down ..You can't even have a bet for this . Recent surveys also indicate the same . Football is the most watched sport in the world , even the Beijing Olympics viewership was just 1/5 th of what FIFA world cup had... Also Football is more spread at the grassrots level and you don't require sports gear to play it unlike cricket !! I Think your question was which one you like between the two ? . Correct me if i am wrong.

I am a die hard cricket fan but football is a more global than cricket. Cricket is played in very few countries and has large fan following only in the Indian Sub-continent. ICC should make sure that cricket is played in Olympics and other world events to get more countries attracted to it.

Considering the hype people caused over World Cup, I think soccer is more popular. It's almost everywhere these days. Also, it's not that cricket is not popular, it just that most people seems to know more about soccer than cricket.

Football. Here in America, It is football at least. But, you cannot say something is more popular than the other just because "You like it". You need facts of some sort at least.

dude, football is way more popular. just look around how people go crazy about the WM this year :D besides cricket isn't a common sport everywhere I guess. many countries specially in the middle east area don't have any national team for that
