Why are you using so much packaging?

Yesterday I had the task, nay the privilege of breaking down an order at work. What a waste of time & packaging. Each T-shirt was individually bagged, then bagged again in pairs then again in 36's then put in a box of 72. My company picks & sells them individually so each bag had to be opened up & dumped. We filled a whole trash bin with extra packaging. Why in the world would a company think we needed this excessive packaging?

That seems a bit extreme. The only reason I can think of is that perhaps they put them on the shelves in batches of 36? There really is no reason for all that packaging, in my view. I hate all the wrappings on stuff. I got a laser light for my dogs to play with last year. The light is about 4 inches long and as big around as a pen. It was on cardboard the size of a paperback book and that horrible, hard plastic on it that is so hard to get off. So much unnecessary stuff!

Actually they don't even put them on the shelves. We break them down individually then ship them to the stores to be sold singly. If you think all that packaging you have to go through is bad you should see how much is used before it ever gets to the store.

It is total wasting of packaging and it is bad for environment. Maybe they expect the shipment to survived heavy rain and multi-locations? maybe it was coming from China? No wonder prices are higher recently....

I guess they got money to waste and it's job security for you.
